He's got 14 assists and 3 tos, along with 5 points and 4 rebounds.
Ended 5-5-14. Bad shooting day.

His teammates sold out 3 of his late assists. Coward chunked two layups and he set Wells up for a wide wide open 3. (But not all of the 14 he did have were easy shots - so perhaps it’s law of averages)

He only took 5 shots, it’s not like he was 2-17

I had no idea his playmaking abilities would translate this well. It's incredible.

It was a bad shooting night. He missed all four looks from the perimeter (five if you count the one where he missed but caught a break with a landing space foul) and his only make was a gimme floater they didn’t try to defend in the last minute up by 9.

It’s crazy to think in hindsight we essentially had 3 point guards playing simultaneously that year. It just so happened Tristen was the best handler under pressure/mid-range pull-up guy, Steph was the best slasher/finisher, and Cam was the best outside shooter, so they each leaned into those roles (by Hurley design, of course). Add to that a plus passer at center and role player extraordinaire Alex Karaban to round out the starting 5 and it’s as close to a perfect a fit as you could imagine.

Donovan with 9 points 15 rebounds and 5 blocks on 4-9 shooting (1-5 from 3) against the Celtics tonight in a loss.

After lowering his three point attempts to 2 a game in December and shooting 50% it's back up to almost 4 a game in January on 27%.

Hasn't had a game he's hit multiple threes in since the 7th.

.-.
Trail Blazers were uninterested in playing defense for the entire first quarter Was a tough watch

Fwiw, Newton wasn't really a great midrange pull up guy. He was below D1 average on both attempts from that range and FG% from that range as well.

Cam on the other hand:

FGA on left FG% on the right.

Terrible night for Donovan shooting but 14 points and 20 rebounds, 13 offensive boards. Leading the NBA in offensive rebounding and third in NBA in rebounding.

Cling Kong with a double double (20 boards!) with 5 blocks, though a rough 6-17 from the field.
13 offensive rebounds. Almost like he can be really dominant if he just stayed close to the rim. 14 points without a three being made.

Steph is SO careless with the ball. It hurts the team, Mitch needs to cede some of his on ball responsibilities to Fox. 4 turnovers in the first half pretty much all from being careless
