Got back from the game about ten minutes ago. You're right. The refs were horrible. Doris Burke has said it before. Just because a team is better doesn't mean you try to even things up. They might as well have tackled Breanna, and Morgan was pushed out and had her arm hacked on a shot close in, but there was a bogus call and no call. Saniya and Gabby did not play well. Moriah wasn't her usual self either. It was Breanna, Morgan and KML. CD seemed unusually subdued. Marissa was the one talking to Geno and exhorting the players to play hard. The more I see her, the more I realize she would be an excellent head coach. Highlights of Huskies over USF titled "Stewart Crushes USF"! Couldn't agree more. By the way, Marissa would also be the most beautiful head coach. She looked incredible in her black dress.

Geno still has Chong in game!
They are taking turns face guarding Williams. She looks great in the flow offensively all the time. Has seemed to come on defensively certainly this season. But anyone who has a DVR and a rewind button can watch 3 defensive plays in a row that looked like the Stanford game. That's just the way it was.

USF is playing as well as any team we have seen against UConn, so far. This includes SC, Stanford and ND. They look good, so far.
U R 100% correct! And no one this season played any harder in the 2nd half- right till the end. I'll bet Jose F could coach with just about anyone. If he was able to land that one more person on many of his team's, he'd make a lot of noise.

And Courtney Williams is as good as anyone I've seen against us this year.

It was a solid win, but between our sloppy second half play, defensive lapses and the overall rebounding deficit, Geno was provided with lots of ammunition for practice. Stewie was tremendous, took a beating but showed she is one tough cookie. KNurse got her game back on track with a super effort tonight (11 pts, 9 assists, 3 rebs, 2 assists and just 1 t/o) and would have earned my star of the game were it not for #30's monster effort. Looks like she's putting it all together at the right time.

.-.

No doubt Courtney Williams is a tremendous shooter/scorer, but she seems a bit of a hot dog, trying to make fancy, difficult shots and pass that sometimes is unnecessary.

I too thought USF played great and never gave up. This is was very physical game with UConn getting hammered inside. I think the game plan was to go down low where the mismatches were and I think UConn played a little to quick at times. Saniya was just a little to quick getting off her shot. Hey we won by 20+ and USF played tuff gotta give'em credit for that. I too think they are a 2 maybe 3 seed if they continue to play like that. So we enter the conference tournments and other then UConn any body has a chance in other conferences to win it. In the NCAAs same thing. UConn and everybody else and it wont be close.

Courtney Williams was great. She got by Moriah a few times and I have not
seen much of that all season. I think Williams is a terrific player. USF can
cause some havoc in the NCAA Tourney. They played very hard.

By the way, did anyone notice that as soon as Kiah Stokes came in the game
Uconn went on a 15-2 run? USF didn't get into the paint to often when she
was in during that run. Prior to Kiah, USF was getting in the paint.

Kiah is intimidating. If during the later stages of the tourney a team's game plan is to knock Stewie to the floor as much as they can, I suggest drawing up some plays on offense where Kiah cuts hard to the basket in the paint. Even if a charge is called, it will be a message well sent.

Tony- you are right! Again!!!

I have been wondering why Geno has seen fit to cut Kiah's minutes so drastically (sr day excluded). Any ideas?

She played 31 minutes on Saturday. There was no where to go but down. More broadly, Kiah is what she is. More time isn't going to make her any better. On the other hand, giving some of her minutes to the bench players that have 3 years left could benefit greatly from extra time.
