Another game where the Husky starting pitcher did not go three innings. For this team that spells trouble, especially since I thought we were getting to the stage where we could depend on Rossomando for 5 good innings. I'm not too concerned about the weekend series since I expect Cate, Montgomerie, and Feole to go fairly deep into games with quality starts. As for hitting, this team needs a healthy and non slumping Feldstein to play like he did earlier in the season, John Toppa to come back from his injury hit like he did last season, and for freshmen like Winkel and Moriarty to do something more with their bats. I have to say that is a lot of ifs.
One good thing to come out of this game was the pitching of CJ Dandeneau. He showed last season that he can be quite a relief pitcher, but after several bad outings recently, it seemed that he had been left for dead. Hopefully he is starting to reemerge to being someone who can give get you some quality innings out of the bullpen.
