Chris Jones says that with the time change in Connecticut, there is now a 6 hour time difference between Hawaii and Connecticut.

Top 1st, a Padilla walk loads the bases with 2 outs. Broadhurst drives in 2 runs with a single to make it 3-0 UConn.

3-0 now! Exactly the start we wanted given how overused UH’s pen is. What a rally!

Hawaii starter is at 31 pitches.

Bottom 1st, Hawaii gets 2 runners on base with 1 out. A run scores on a wild pitch, Hyde thought it hit the batter but it apparently did not. Hyde did not immediately go after the ball, so runners both advanced 2 bases. A walk and a single makes the score 3-2 with 1 out. A 1 out rbi double ties the game at 3 going to the top of the 2nd.

Sears walked 2 batters and hit one as well that inning.

Top 2nd, Smith walks to lead off the inning, and goes to 2B on a no out balk. Pitching change, so the UConn offense is already into the Hawaii bullpen again. UConn loads the bases with no out.

Based loaded, no outs for us. Top 2nd.

Maybe some of us will be asleep by the end of this game as well.

Top 3rd, Hyde with a leadoff double for his first UConn hit of his career, he moves to 3B with a no out passed ball, he scores on a Tammaro ground out. 8-3 UConn.

Bottom 3rd, Sears gives up a leadoff solo homer, 8-4 UConn. Sears retires the next 3 batters in order all on fly outs to the outfield. Sears is at 47 pitches for the game.

Huber with a baserunning blunder that could bail Hawaii out here.

Hawaii with the FAU style fielding this series.

Top 4th, UConn gets the first 2 hitters on base on a walk and an infield error. Huber is picked off 2B for the first out. UConn loads the bases with 1 out. Hyde with a 1 out single to drive in 2 runs. 10-4 UConn going to the bottom of the inning.

Bottom 4th, Sears faces the minimum after a leadoff infield single, and coming up with an inning ending double play. 10-4 UConn. Sears at 53 pitches.

Top 5th, a scoreless inning for the UConn offense after Huber is thrown out at the plate on a Studley infield single for the final out of the inning. 10-4 UConn.

Bottom 5th, after a 1 out Freeberger error, a Hawaii double puts 2 runners in scoring position, followed by a 3 run Hawaii homer, 10-7 UConn.

Sears is coming out, Coe is coming in to pitch for UConn.

Coe comes up with 2 quick outs to end the inning. I believe Chris Jones said that Coe threw 51 pitches in the game on Friday night, so I would not expect a long pitching stint for him tonight.

Top 6th, with 2 out, Hyde gets a walk, and Tammaro and Smith are both hit by pitches to load the bases. Pitching change. Nothing comes of it for the UConn offense. 10-7 UConn.

Brady Afthim warming in the UConn bullpen.
