UConn game(s) you watch multiple times (almost addictively)

I taped the 1990 BET semis and finals on one VHS cassette and used to watch that every season for years.

I have watched the '99 title game so many times I practically know every word Billy Packer is going to say. The 2011 run was insane especially the two games out west vs San Diego State and Arizona. Ditto for 2014...... All six games are worth watching, from Brimah's and 1, the entire Nova game, Mich State was a classic, the 11-0 run in 1:30 mins, etc, etc. Just incredible basketball. The 04 semifinal vs Duke was equally great.

2009 vs Michigan St. just so I can support the fact that the final four banner matters and Jerome would’ve got us another championship.

I will never watch that choke job again.

Once was enough.

The bigs let a guy who was playing so bad his slump was national news just absolutely handled them.

2004 vs Duke in Final Four
2010 vs Texas in Gampel
2011 Maui Tournament
2011 vs Villanova in Gampel
2011 vs Georgetown in XL
2011 BET
2011 NCAAT
2014 vs Michigan St in Elite 8
2014 vs Florida in Final Four
2014 vs Kentucky in Championship

The 99 title game wasn’t as crisp as I remembered it, but man you can’t beat that ending.

Still surprised they actually got Langdon for that travel.

I don't even watch the whole game. This one minute video is undefeated in inspiring me.

BTW, S/O to @Wordbomar for mentioning UConn-Tulsa 2015. I can't imagine what sequence of life events would lead you to list that game - of all the amazing games the program has seen - as one you watch "almost addictively." Did you bet the mortgage on the under?

WOW...smdh.

What a memory. Hope to experience that again before I...

Been watching for 30 sum years. Lots of great games. Like watching clips of many.
But the only games for which I watch extended play is the 2014 team. Not sure why, but there was something about that team. The were dominant in a just-a-bit-ahead-of-you kind of way. Every shot seemed huge. Every game seemed to be a battle in which we would just outlast the opponent, and, when it was over, you'd think, yeah, we had 'em.
I don't watch St. Joe's, except for Brimah's transcendent moment. I still can't take the stress of that game coming down to the wire.
Every other game was an absolute blast to watch.
I watched those games at the bar that I eventually bought, with a young pup who was an N.Carolina fan who yelled "Jiffy-Lube!" every time Giffey hit a 3.

Beating Villanova and Iowa solidly, if not convincingly.
Seeming to be getting better with each game.
Beating Michigan State to break their FF senior streak. Coming back on Florida and then, down the stretch, having Kerr or Anthony say, "UConn is just the better team."
Then the Kentucky game, with all their talent. In the 2nd half, EVERY play seemed critical. Kentucky was like a dire wolf snapping at our ankles as we ran toward the finish line. Just incredible.

I suppose there's some recency bias here. I frankly can't remember the 99 season much at all. I remember the players and some of the iconic plays, but the details are faded badly - it was a really busy year for me and I didn't get to know the team as well as usual. 2004 is much clearer in my mind, and I loved the Duke 2nd half beatdown.

But 14 was the apogee for me. Tremendous fan fun. An incredibly unlikely run through a very tough bracket.

Oh trust me I was there. I've never had adrenaline pumping that way after a game that ugly, and that includes 2011 against Butler. I'm actually reminded a bit of how awesome the crowd was - there was still plenty of good will left over from the previous season, plus, there was an irrational belief that we were invincible and going to make a run in the NCAA Tournament since at the time KO was still undefeated in elimination games.

As an aside, damn I miss Ryan Boatright. Last great player the program has had.

So glad it missed, but I will never understand how it missed.

Best I got is lamb changed the trajectory of the shot.

He had to shooot it higher than he wanted to so lamb didn’t hakim warrick that thing.

I remember that Tulsa game vividly actually. We almost got shut out at the half! The place was insane down the stretch. Even better for SMU the next day but Boatright went down early and we had no shot

1994 at BC, down 18 in 2nd half, we win in OT. Calhoun at his best.
1990 NCAA vs Cal. Lou Campenelli (coach) said they had seen a really good press vs Oregon so they would be able to handle ours, he was wrong, it was 21-2 before they knew what hit them.
1999 Big East final vs St Johns and Mike Jarvis. Opening 8 minutes may have been the best 8 minutes any UConn team ever played.

You youngsters have no idea how powerful we were back then, if Dan Hurley gets us back to that point, it's going to be nuts.

Shot in the dark here, but I remember this post of yours from a ways back. You mentioned you have a bunch of VHS tapes from 1993-2006 - any chance you still have those or did someone else scoop them up?

TCF, I wanted to go back and check out some of these great Husky moments, but I get a 404 error at uconnhuskygames.com. What's up?

I love when Lamb says he could feel the breeze on his fingers as the the shot went by.

Besides the Natty's/Final Four games, here are some of my repeats...

Dream Season...
GTown
Cuse
Cal in the Tourney --> We went on a run where they could barely get the ball over half court.

91
vs Wake just to watch Burrell leap frog Rodney Rogers
vs. Shaq in the tourney

92
Smitty dropping 37 on St. Johns
vs. Texas where Donyell displayed everything
Destroying Nebraska in the tourney

93
NC State when Cup Cormier looked like he would be our best PG ever... Seriously.

94
Virginia Beat Down
Donyell's 42 pt games against SJU

95
Maryland in the tourney; as explosive as we have ever been

96
Nova after the snowstorm and a huge early run
GTown in the BET

97
Kansas at the HCC... Best loss we've ever had and the game that told me that we would win a championship with Rip, KFree, Rash, and Jake as a core.

99
St Johns in the BET. Started that game on a 14-0 run included and full court alley-oop where the ball never touched the floor. Literal perfection.

00
Early games versus Duke and 'Zona.
Also, there's a GTown game where we actually played together and Doug Wrenn had a ridiculous dunk.

02
Opening game against Vandy; we started on a 19-0 run with Caron getting four or five steals and breakaway dunks. Vandy could barely complete a pass in the halfcourt.
Throttling of a bad UNC team with Doherty at the helm.

04
Destroying Oklahoma
Alabama domination in the tourney

05
Cuse where Charlie V became the best player in the country for 20 minutes or so.

06
vs. Cuse at the dome. We started on a 10 or 11-0 run, started sleepwalking and then went on a 20 something 0 run where we did everything perfect. I remember Dukie V just saying "Wow" over and over.
vs. Seton Hall where we actually played together

09
AJ dropping 36 on Marquette
Hasheem blocking or altering about 17 shots against PC
Destruction of Texas A&M in the tourney

10
Texas

11
Kentucky in Maui

14
Tourney Games

I often rewatch games (if you couldn't tell) while working out but I have not synced up one post 14. Even the Cinci 4 OT game is kinda blah to me b/c I just hated the way we played.

Mostly, I just pick random games and watch them. Sure, I watch the usual ones repeatedly --- 77/74, Kemba's leg breaker game, 2014 championship, etc. But I also absolutely love to watch the game with Mich State in Germany at the start of Ollie's first year. Maybe it lied to us, telling us that we were going to be fine going forward, but it still gives me goosebumps every time I watch it. In fact, I watch a lot of games from that season and the next, and wonder what the hell happened after '14. How could good, go so bad, so quickly?

In retrospect, watching a lot of the games from the ban year over again, what stands out to me is what a tremendous closer Bazz was. Maybe the best we've ever had. The games he won for us in the closing minutes and in OT that year...

99 vs Duke for sure, 04 vs Duke, if I watch any from 2011 and 2014 then I have to watch all tourney games from those years its like not having cheese or mustard on your burger if you only watch one tourney game from 2011 or 2014. That site is amazing speaking of for some reason the url for that site isn't working now, I have it booked mark and its just coming up as an error saying the URL was not found on the server.

You should try watching games in chronological order it would be cool if we had a thread where we watch each game and give our comments on it afterwords for each game.

Dream Season at home against Georgetown when they had Mutumbo and Mourning and were ranked 1 or 2 in the country just after Uconn beat Syracuse who was also a top 5 team. I was a kid at the Civic Center up in the nose bleeds. It was the loudest I have ever heard the crowd be. Great game.

This was the game that completely hooked me. I was 9 and had seen a decent amount of games prior. I remember a bit of Earl Kelley, especially vs. Ewing, Mullin, and the Pearl and was excited when we won the NIT. But watching us come out 14-0 against GTown, turning them over left and right, Nadav turning into Larry Bird, and the HCC explode forever made me a UConn fanatic. We essentially did the same thing to 'Cuse the previous game, but to me the GTown game was different.

I was at both games. That was the week that UConn became one of the big boys. The Civic Center was rocking. People were delirious.

Watched or listened to the radio broadcast of UConn-Duke '99 just about every day that summer.

And it was nasty weather that night. Ice storm conditions.
