UConn Football Summer/Fall of 2017 - Camp REStorred

Student tickets should be free. Last year was the first year transportation was free for students which a step in the right direction to helping get students into the game. Incentivize students attending by tying in attendance with preferential seating at basketball games, or something of that nature.
Free college sports tickets = build the cost into the student fee, but yeah. I guess you you could make the 'Dog Pound Die Hard' tickets free, so long as the kids get there on time. I guess the best way to check when kids leave is give them a code to text after the school song is sung.

Actually this is pretty doable.

Free = not valued. The GHO used to be awash in free tickets, for many years couldn't give them away even with hospitality access.

There should be a nominal charge and if you want to use that money to pay for swag (t-shirts etc), to refund for attendance, food vouchers or other incentives. I don't know what student tickets cost these days but I'd be shocked if it were more than $100 for the season.

I think one incentive is to form tailgate clubs with prime real estate and maybe some permanent facilities. Again, other schools do this.

The first thing to do is start an official student supporters club. Do it like the American Outlaws do it, Tifos, marches, flags. Heck, let them escort the team on the Huskywalk. You just need some students/staff to lead the thing.

Make it a credit against Men's BB season tickets for the kids who make every game for the whole game?

Less than $50. It's not the $$ per se - it's the losing.

So $8 for a shirt and $40 for the tix. Definitely not a money thing. My guess it's a hassle thing or a I can get drunk/flirt on campus thing. Making being in the student section fun is the obvious answer.

Good test for the new Leadership Council, but it does seem handicapped not having the starting QB on it, especially when the QB is new and the O is called out by the HC for lack of leadership.

I know the reason HC said they aren't included, I just don't think the current Council is as effective as it could be without Pindell on it, especially given our current QB situation. For one thing, Pindell is new and supposedly a very quiet guy, so my guess is it's going to take some real game situations for him to prove himself and gain the full confidence of his teammates. Once he does that, as I'm confident he will, I can understand not having him on the Council. In the meantime, I believe he could exhibit additional leadership qualities and gain further credibility and confidence from his teammates if he was on the Council now. Just my opinion.

Understand the perspective but I think there is a distinct and separate difference between on-field leadership and team/program leadership. The Leadership Council is an off the field concept that meets w/ Edsall on a weekly basis.

I am going to assume nothing preclude the Leadership Council and the quarterbacks from talking to each other. I doubt that they are required to sign non-disclosure agreement regarding what they discussed within the Leadership Council.

Agree, and I didn't know the Council was set up as you've described. That, in and of itself, is an interesting "trade off" from team captains. Team captains are expected to be on-field leaders. Surely the same is expected from the Leadership Council? Here's to hoping the O got the message loud and clear today.
