UConn Football Class of 2026 > Early Signing Day Thread/Info (12/3/25>12/6/25)

ZERO disrespect to @huskymedic and his efforts to keep us fans well-informed, but, I'd be completely shocked if we get any NLI's over the next several days.

If we do, then we're definitely in a little bit better shape than I thought as a program

While I think many may have wanted to play for Mora, I’d be SHOCKED if there weren’t a few recruits that didn’t choose UConn because they like UConn.

I think it’s also a prudent move to reopen your commitment when there’s a coaching change. I bet some recommit after the hire.

contrary to the meaning behind your double negative - I believe what you are trying to say is that you believe at least a few recruits chose UConn because they wanted to play for UConn. I would agree. Football on the rise, great school, great brand, great athletic department, great location, opportunity to play against P4 and G6. Lots of great reasons to join the UConn Huskies!

We've kept multiple guys that had at least 1 P4 offer, good news and unexpected with all of the recent turmoil.

I'm sure they all have their own individual reasons for coming here, but regardless of what they are I appreciate and respect these kids for sticking it out and honoring their commitment. Hope we bring in a great coach and they all find a lot of success here

Not half bad!

respect to any kid who comes to UConn when they don't have a coach yet. idk if i would.

Leaks kid is welcome news I suppose, but I would prefer kids not de-commit from their chosen school, even if it benefits us.
I'm talking from an institutional standpoint. We get a kid, lose 4. that's where I'm frustrated. The word "committed" means nothing.

Also… I see some places mention him as a DB and he actually mentioned Hilliard in his announcement so he’s probably actually here to play D. I wonder if one of the other decommits opened up more opportunity for him here.

If we flipped a commitment clearly something is going on behind the scenes with the staff. I don't see a kid committing here if he doesn't know if any of the coaches will be around. It's got me wondering...

Are we closer to a hire than many of us realize despite the silence? I could see this as a sign we are about to hire someone just hashing out the final details, and certain staff members know they will be retained. I could also see this as a sign Sammis may actually get promoted. Could also be something else entirely. Idk but it's fun to speculate, especially with the lack of rumors floating around the internet.

Whatever the case may be, I'm thrilled by all of the signings today.
