I was more in the camp of appreciating Mora for all he did here and getting us out of the bad years and wishing him well. This just seems so wrong.

While it's disappointing to see the decommitments, I think you have to look at it from the perspective of the high school athlete and their family. Remember there are no rules in place compelling UConn to honor the scholarship/roster commitments which were made to the recruit. In the ideal world you would think that they are committed to the university as a whole and not just a coaching staff; however the current system is far from ideal. Can you really blame them for wanting the certainty of getting their scholarship locked in and getting finished with the recruiting phase of their lives?
I agree with you. Unfortunately for the families, these kids are committing to a school they probably haven't visited and they will only play one game east of the Mississippi River in their career at CSU. There is a reason the primary recruiting areas for CSU are California and Texas.

I posted this in the 2026 Recruiting Thread so as not to spin this thread off the rails but I’ll drop it here as well.

You’ve got Max on both lists - committed and decommitted?

Well is that really a fair statement? I'm sure there must be redeeming qualities, let's compare the 2 schools:

Hmmm, guess you're right, it must have been the allure of the greener uniforms ^_^. Either that or the altitude at CSU isn't the only thing that's high.
Good lord, now we’re citing USN&WR, as if it has any relevance. The silliness of the board at being left at the altar is illogical.

Yes kids are following the coach they wanted to play for. As soon as aour coach is hired, we will hope he brings recruits with him - a novelty after bringing in a retiree, a 2.0, a pair of red pants and a senior citizen as replacements.

Cahill not bringing what we need, Carty better, Smith best
Still like Cahill
If we hire Sammis, do guys pull out of the portal?

Quick somebody contact the players at Alabama. Don’t they know the academic status of their school?

It's just the business these days.

We will have a new coach at some point and he'll bring his guys with him. Circle of life and all that.

  5. Carter Emanuel (QB) - Edgewater High School, Orlando Florida (UConn Commit 6/2/25 > Decommitted 11/30/25 < Colorado State Commit 12/4/25)
  6. Damian Moore (RB/ATH) - Edgewater High School, Orlando Florida (Duquesne Commit > Decommit > UConn Commit 11/2/25 > Decommit > Colorado State Commit 12/5/25)

Honestlyl screw Mora for taking these kids. Tulane lost their coach to Florida and he told all his kids to sign with Tulane.
That is a coach with class. Mora has none
In fairness, Tulane to Florida is an upgrade and he likely felt none of them would translate to success in the SEC. Mora essentially downgraded so his guys still fit his mold of what he’s competing against.

Mora did lateral move and Tulane coach significantly upgraded.
