Dan could send a message to the team and the world by starting Singare, Abraham, Ross, DIaby and Nowell. If the starters want in, they'll have to earn minutes by playing UConn defense. (Also, when this crew picks up 8 or 9 fouls in the first three minutes, he'll have a decent bench to look to.)

What's the worst that could happen? We lose?
Did no coach of a top program ever.

With Hurley's penchant for superstitions and karma...I'm guessing there is a pretty good chance that a Hurley team never steps foot on the Hawaiian Islands ever again.
Did any of the UConn players find a Tiki Idol on the island? Hopefully they return it to the burial ground before tonight's game.

O.K. only us old people will get the reference.

Thankful I’m out in WA state visiting the in-laws, 9p is much more manageable. Let’s get a damn win!

He didn't start them, but Coach K, once -very early in a game - pulled all his starters and sent in a line up of scrubs and walk ons. He let them play a few minutes before he sent the embarrassed players back in.

Well, Ruff Ruff probably doesn't consider K / Duke to be "top program" quality.

Oh contraire - K is the gold standard obviously. Didn’t know that, but that is old school bad @ss and not surprising I guess for a pupil of Bobby K. Bench retained @ss and clearly sent a signal to brain. What year was that? Wonder how that team ended up.

Make no mistake Col was worst team on paper in this tourney.

Questions for tonight:

Who starts: Reed/Diarra
Who is first PG off bench if so(Nowell)
Does DH behave, relatively speaking

Just looking for some positive adjustments to see what staff is thinking as only so much you can do in these back to back games before you come home and go back into the lab and practices.

They get stuck playing 2 early morning games which I always hated for basketball. Morning games suck. Then relegated to playing midnight eastern time. Yeah, I don't think we should ever play in the aloha state again.
I'm a relative newcomer to CBB but why is the Maui held in such high regard? Terrible time slots and the convention center is tiny, who is affording the tickets and airfare to Hawaii, especially from the East Coast?

Seems like there's much better MTEs

It's one of the older tournaments and due to prestige generally gets the best collection of teams. Teams and players have always liked it because it's a chance for the school to essentially pay for a bonding vacation for players/coaches (skirting NCAA bylaws for the last 40 years, but less relevant with recent NCAA changes). A lot of the other MTE tournaments are held in cavernous neutral site buildings that don't fill up, so the atmosphere is lacking. By contrast, the Maui gym being so small and the destination being so appealing gives it an electric atmosphere. The rims are notoriously soft, allowing for good shooting and high scores.

Usually great fields, very intimate environment and tradition. Has a brand. Logistics not so much.

Calhoun also was known to pull a player super quick if they didn’t start the game right.

Ala Dyson vs Kentucky. He pulled him like 30 seconds into the game.

Wow Cadeau. What a miss.

UNC down 3 with 13.8 ticks to go. Getting the ball.
