Not a fan of the walk but having a lead after that terrible start is nice. Offense needs to pile on here.

I'm a fan of getting out of a one out bases loaded situation with only one run coming in. Gardner did his job. Good to see him making a contribution after what happened to him last weekend.

Gardner doesn't have it today. Back to back doubles ties the game. Runner on 2nd, 1 out.

Edit: 2nd hit was a single. Man on first. Dandy coming in.

Bottom 5th, Charleston double drives in a run to tie the game at 5. Gardner out, Dandeneau in, one out.

Getting Gardner right is goimg to be critical. He just hasn't been good there for whatever reason. Perhaps the coaches will make him a midweek starter?

Lot of room for relief audition performances as Pender sez... make a name for yourself.

This is frustrating... I understand it's only the second weekend but how much more leash do you give Gardner as a reliever before you admit it doesn't work? He wasn't terrible as a starter last year and just hasn't had it at all in 2019.

Time to pull double duty with the game vs. Cincy! 0-2 would be a real bad Sunday.

Getting a lead by the end of the 7th inning is very important, as both teams have lock down closers.

I'd give him more shots out of the bullpen, the season has just started. He had plenty as a starter last season and showed he had a tough time being effective for more than a few innings.
