UConn @ Coastal Carolina Tourney (Fri. 3/1 Northeastern, Sat. 3/2 Dbl Header>Indiana @1:05 & #19 Coastal Carolina @5:30 & Sun. 3/3 #25 Illinois @Noon)

Kenny Haus in the preseason interviews sounded fairly similar to Jeff Kersten. Hope he can come up with similar results on the mound.

Bottom 1st, bases loaded two out single drives in two runs for Coastal. Haus is struggling, loaded the bases with 2 walks and a hit by pitch. 2-0 after 1 inning. Haus threw 29 pitches that inning.

Kyler Fedko follows the homer up with a solid single. I believe he had a hit in the first game, so maybe he is getting out of his season starting slump.

Coastal gets a run off a bases loaded sac fly. Toppa puts UConn up by 1 run in the 3rd with a 2 run homer. 4-3 UConn. Slugfest brewing?

Coastal ties it up at 4 in the 3rd, and they are still at bat. Kenny Haus doesn't have long for this game tonight.

Bats quiet in the top of the 4th.

This could be a winnable game with Feole - I wonder if he and Wallace will each give us an inning or two today and tomorrow?

Two walks and a bunt single load the bases up with no one out. Walks are massacring this team today.

CC strikes out looking for out #1.

2 run single makes it 6-4 Coastal. Pitching depth is a major concern for me in postseason play.

Chris Jones complaining quite a bit about ball strike calls this inning.

UConn has a lot of inexperienced young pitchers on the staff, and it is being magnified by the Feole injury that has prevented him from pitching so far, and by Dunlop imploding in his first two starts. Get Feole and Kersten going back to back on the weekends for 6+ innings apiece, and that will help out quite a bit. It would also give time for the rest of the pitching staff to get their feet under them.

4 runs for Coastal off of Wang this inning so far. 8-4 Coastal lead at the end of 4.

Wang actually pitched very well. He got a ground ball to short that could have been a double play if prato was shaded a hair over.

Coastal having fielding problems now in the top of the 5th, and UConn picks up another run on a throwing error off a Chris Winkel bunt. 8-6, with a Coastal pitching change.
