That inning was way more stressful than it needed to be. BC's star shortstop (MLB prospect) is having the worst game of his life and we need to take advantage of that.

We have top coming up while BC has 7-8-9. We have to win this inning.
 
what do we do here guys? if we grab a lead goto oberg but if not stay with butler for as long as possible?
 
Unless he's tired, why would you take out a starter who has given you five scoreless innings. I'd think he'd be good for at least one more.
 
Oberg should come on soon. Nothing to lose...we're getting late in the game and BC is throwing their best reliever at us.

Bayuk, like Butler, does a good job at jumping ahead of the count.
 
i think we save oberg until we have a lead or the 9th meat of the order. butler can handle the 789. if we go extras that means we can run oberg to the 11th if needed.

Testani looked pretty bad Sunday before crushing a homerun. Would be nice to see a similar result here.

This is gonna be a tough loss if we can't make a comeback in the 9th.
 
Even though the games aren't televised, I can still feel the frustration that I always get through the Gamecast, Weird huh?

this was exactly what i was talking about. at what point do we bring oberg in. JP i guess felt that he wouldnt unless we got a lead, so he went to some one else. tough choice were now paying for.

i lost my radio a couple mins ago, just have GC now. stinks...

Feehan's nightmarish season continues. Brutal.

Put this one on the coaches' decision to start Ward, a lack of a killer instinct when BC was reeling, and more horrendous pitching from Feehan.

Here is what bothers me -- was this a huge game or not. If it wasn't -- if it's just another weekday game -- why in the world would you start Ward on short rest coming off an injury. if this was a big game, and you weren't an idiot for throwing your Friday night guy out there, how could you not go to Oberg with one out in the eighth.

Either way of managing this game was fine, but to start Ward and then not use Oberg when you had a chance doesn't make sense.

im ok with throwing ward to start as i thought it was the right idea. but i dont know anything about his health....seems to be something wrong tho.

I'm not second guessing him for starting Ward. But if it was a big enough game to start Ward on a Wednesday against a non-conference foe, it was big enough to bring your ace into a tie game in the 8th.

I agree with this. I'm alright with starting Ward if it was determined that he was fully healthy. But that implies it was a big game and with a day off tomorrow why not throw Oberg in the 8th, 9th, and 10th if it turned out to be necessary.
 
Damn BC :( wanted a win against them really badly, but I'm looking forward to yet another BE Road trip,

Next up Pittsburgh!

Would be nice to see 2 wins down there.
 
Tough loss to a very beatable team. Need to take 2 out of 3 in Pittsburgh this weekend.
