Being a UConn fan hurts man. I remember the days when football was on the upswing, and we'd go into games like these with the promise that we'd at least be competitive. Looking at the empty stadiums (both football and basketball) is hard considering what we once had going at this school.
I think we can all agree that the product is disappointing, and it hurts at this point, but if you're still an avid enough fan to be posting somewhere like the BY you obviously still have some passion for the team and a hope we can return to where we once were. It obviously hurts to watch at this point, but there is a lot of damage that has been done that must be reversed. Can we all just agree to be rational? Sure it will bring out the worst in anyone to watch these shellackings night after night, but getting upset about each and every time we lose does no good.
I'm not sure if time will heal this program, and if it doesn't so be it. We can only hope for gradual improvement and an eventual conference realignment. These players are certainly not resigned to lose games, and give their all to this university. Let's just hope that they can band together and RE can slowly begin bringing in more and more talent and leading us to where we all know we deserve to be, and the same goes for KO on the basketball side of things.
Things look ugly, and a lot of things have not gone our way athletically over the last 5-6 years. Now, we must just accept that it will take time to overcome this and have hope for the future. It hurts to be a UConn fan right now (FB and BB), but we are all avid fans who support the University and need to continue with our support until we have a reason not to. Go Huskies.
