UConn/Baylor Game Cancelled

During the Louisville/UT-Martin TV telecast, Pam Ward mentioned that Coach Walz is looking for an opponent for Thursday. Maybe UCONN/Louisville will happen...and if not Thursday, maybe Friday??

Just throwing out ideas but I like to see the top teams take on each other.
Look at you, comin' in hot with the assist. HA!

I believe that if UConn does not play a another game out of Conference and does go undefeated in the Big East they will still end up one of the #1 seeds. COVID is the one that is doing it and I don't think the NCAA would end up punishing UConn because they didn't happen. They were scheduled and it's no ones fault that they had to be cancelled. I would love to see Louisville and UConn play, but I don't see it happening. Jeff has decided to play powder puffs so he can get his team up to speed for the ACC run and then the NCAA's if it happens.

Maybe they can bubble the WBB Final Four at Mohegan Sun and play there, Storrs, Hartford, U. Hartford, etc.

I know, ridiculous wishful thinking...

NCAA men's basketball tournament to be played entirely in Indiana

The NCAA will host its entire postseason men's basketball tournament in Indianapolis and surrounding areas with a bubble-like format, officials announced on Monday.

All 68 teams will come to compete for the national championship and play most of the games at multiple venues in Indianapolis, with some games in Bloomington and West Lafayette. The bulk of the teams will stay in hotels connected to the Indiana Convention Center, which will be used as a practice facility, the NCAA said.

Look for the women's tournament in San Antonio (Alamodome) to do likewise. More control of the players and the facilities this way. Reduced travel costs for all involved also. The Alamodome is a 64,000-seat domed indoor multi-purpose stadium in San Antonio, Texas. It is located on the southeastern fringe of downtown San Antonio.

I hate to say this, but Louisville doesn’t need UConn right now. Louisville will get solid competition in the ACC, and has a very good chance to run the table. NC St is the only real challenge on the schedule, and I honestly don’t think the Wolfpack is up to it.

So worst case Louisville heads into the tournament, assuming we have one, as the #2 overall seed, and maybe #1 if someone in the Pac12 knocks off Stanford.

I think the women have already announced that the tournament will be played in TX.

I looked for an "UNLIKE" button but didn't see one. I'll contact the site administrator.

@Carnac, I thought it was going to be in San Antonio for the Women?

My understanding it is. My daughter's school, UIW, is supposed to be a host. Hopefully it's on because my mom has been dying to go to the final four. It's always around her birthday and with it being in San Antonio, us being there at that time, it's a perfect match!

Personally, I would like to see this game rescheduled THIS year.....if possible. Of course, conference games take priority. If their schedules allow, I would like to see this game rescheduled This month or next.

I'm pushing for Vegas, they have the courts and they could bubble all 64 teams and staff at the Palms hotel and casino, which just off the Strip.

I disliked posting it, but after last weekend when Jeff decided to play 2 cupcakes, rather than a UConn team that had nothing to do, I’m not optimistic about a rescheduled UConn vs Louisville game.

Thursday game would be a stretch for UConn. Running pell mell into that game would not be adviseable.

I can see ESPN right now, they are trying to find a way to bubble both UConn and Tennessee up before the game on the 21st. While another team of experts are trying to figure out a way to get the UConn vs Baylor rescheduled, even if it has to be at a neutral site.

Louisville doesn't play Thursday. Could UCONN and Louisville somehow meet Thursday night?

I don't see why not. They were packed and ready to leave for Waco today. They can just as easily change their destination to Louisville instead. UConn needs to play a game!!! Louisville is a MORE THAT SUITABLE replacement for Baylor. Let's do it!!!

Serge, you know as well as I do. Where there's a will, there's a way. Get it done!!!
