Offense has been really bad. No momentum carryover from st joes. Nice pitching by Gallagher though.

These midweek games against lesser opponents can be the perfect tonic for a struggling young pitcher trying to get some experience, and trying to get their feet on the proverbial ground in the process.

Of course, the next midweek game is against Boston College, so that one won't be all that easy.

Bottom 4th, Erik Stock with the first hit for a Husky in a game at their new ballpark, a 2 out single. Devenney walks (he gets quite a few of these freebies), but the 2 out rally doesn't come to anything. 1-0 UConn.

Top 5th, Gallagher still on the mound. Kenny Haus warming up.

.-.
Bottom 5th, another scoreless inning for the UConn bats. Huskies need to start getting runners on base before there are 2 out.

Top 6th, the day is over for Gallagher, who did quite well. Kenny Haus on the mound to start the inning.

Top 6th, Haus gives up a couple walks, but comes up with a scoreless inning. Devenney throws out a base stealer. 1-0 UConn.

Bottom 6th, the UConn offense stays quiet.

Top 7th, Andrew Marrero in to pitch for UConn.

Not yet (from UConn Baseball schedule page):

“UConn is continuing to follow guidance from the State of Connecticut Department of Public Health, which recommends in-person attendance....
On the outfield hillside, some camping or beach chairs would appear to provide pretty good views. In days of yesteryear, I have some great memories of walking through the apple orchard and pine trees to watch soccer games played prior to the ex-Joe Morrone stadium's expansion. Not always the greatest views, but often a barrel or so lubrication.

Bottom 7th, UConn bats remain on sabbatical.

Top 8th, Randy Polonia starts the inning on the mound for the Huskies. Polonia with a quick 1-2-3 inning with 2 strikeouts.

Both teams in white?
Central is wearing grey.

Bottom 8th, Stock with a one out rbi single to make it 2-0. Two runners on base. Chris Winkel pinch runs for Ferrer, he will no doubt be a defensive replacement as well.

Two runners stranded. Top 9th, Wurster in for the save opportunity.

Are they allowing people to sit in the outfield?? Or is that off limits too.
