Men UConn Baseball 2026

Drizzle risks aside, a cross country trip and visiting Portland would be worthwhile with other games with Oregon State.
When are the games in Corvallis?

None to my knowledge, just suggesting UConn won’t fly cross country for only 3 games with Portland.
They likely will just go out for the weekend series. They already have an extended west coast trip to Arizona. I expect the season will start out in the east, probably Florida somewhere g8ven the series in North Carolina scheduled.

No Florida trip this year.

Portland series is the start of spring break trip out west.

Consolidating what we know, per opponent schedule releases:

Feb 18 at Arizona State
Feb 20-23 (4 games) at Arizona
Feb 27-Mar 1 at UNC Wilmington
Mar 6-8 at Old Dominion
Mar 13-15 at Portland
Apr 7 at Bryant

This would mean we are not playing on opening weekend. Surprising but understandable for a team from the NE

This isn't a complete schedule. Just what is known right now based on releases from other teams. There's no official announcement of the MLB Desert Invitational teams yet, although a few teams that have released their schedules have said they are participating. For example, Nebraska, Kansas State, and Iowa.

->Tyler Minick

Last but not least, Tyler Minick rounds out my list of eight hitters I “like” for the 2026 college baseball season. The Reading, PA native has been a force at the plate for UConn ever since arriving on campus in 2024.

In 2025, the infielder launched 18 home runs, drove in 62, had nine doubles, two triples, and hit .362. At times, Big East pitching almost looked too easy for him, yet the six-foot junior has zero intention of leaving Connecticut.

Minick also made a massive jump on the bases from ’24 to ’25, swiping 15 bags last spring, and he’s always looking for ways to round out his game. I’m curious to see what steps forward this power threat makes in 2026. <-
