Rob Rispoli had a wonderful redshirt freshman season with UConn this year, that is for sure.

-> Charlie West, UConn: After seven relief appearances as a freshman, West started the year in the Huskies’ bullpen and made seven appearances there. After a strong midweek start against Hofstra, West slotted into the weekend rotation the following Sunday and never left. What’s interesting about West is over those first seven outings, he had a 6.23 ERA over nine innings with 10 walks and 10 strikeouts. After moving into the rotation, he had a 49-24 K-BB mark and a 1.85 ERA over nearly five times as many innings. He notably reduced his curveball usage and attacked with a fastball and changeup, per Synergy, with the latter drawing a 91st percentile zone-whiff rate. <-
