Cooley has a 9-2 record against Hurley. That will take a good long run to turn around. And next up is the Undefeated Greg McDermott. This is a big week for our coach. Since we have started Big East play the team is struggling a bit. The fact we had a deficit to Georgetown in the second half in our gym and they are 0 for their last 24 Big East games is a red flag. The staff better have some rotations that puts Providence at a disadvantage. Sanogo should as well as the entire team be practicing not biting on upfakes every day. This game will tell us a lot about where the season is going.

You’re going all in for this trip to the dunk I see.

Post/avatar vendetta-distraction mojo trolling mashup.

Thinks he's playing the long game; maybe he is. Surely he'll claim it. Unless he doesn't care. Stay tuned...

Another very tough road game. Another physical battle

It's doable, it won't be easy

So we're talking about a potential 1 seed or a final 4 or a natty.....but we're going to get whipped up for a road game at PC? Sure. They'll play hard. Cooley is a nice coach. But I expect to win easily. Is that wrong?

30 3s is fine with this team. We have great shooters. Andres 4 heaves at the end inflated the number a bit. Nobody was complaining about this until we lost.
Agreed. It’s about who takes them and when. Opening the game with possessions where Sanogo and Jackson are taking threes is no good. Those guys need to use some discretion as to when to shoot, especially if there’s a lot of clock left. Hawkins, karaban and California should have a total green light - anytime, anywhere. Alleyne isn’t too far behind in my book. If he has an open look im rarely going to be mad at him shooting it, and slightly behind that is Newton.

I mean there are just a lot of guys who get big minutes for which them getting a three attempt of varying degrees of difficulty depending on the player is a great possession. If that ends up being 30+ attempts , that’s not in and of itself bad.

I look forward to two hours of Bynum and Breed running kamikaze style out of control into the lane, throwing their head backwards and falling on the floor and Providence shooting upwards of 30 free throws because for whatever reason.. refs respect that style.

Wait if they’re heaves he shouldn’t be taking them. They wouldn’t have counted because only the first 9 meant anything? You people are ridiculous when he made the great steal and we still had a small chance he shouldn’t have shot it so fast if he didn’t think he could make it. Oh he knew “it was just a heave.” Such crap

While I agree that we shot a bit too early in the possession a few times vs Xavier, some of the people on here just cannot stand the strategic thought of a big man shooting a 3pt shot.

They would still complain about Sanogo shooting them even if he was shooting 100% on good volume.

Thank goodness none of you have our coaching staff’s ear.

Talk is cheap. Let us see where we are after the next 3 games. Championship teams win road games. After Marquette we will have a better idea than the Natty or Final 4 prognosticators. Are not going anywhere if we can't beat Providence away or Creighton at home and then go to Marquette and keep it rolling.

Wrong? Not necessarily. Most probably just stupid. But, what can I say?

Expectations? Met!

If UConn comes out with the intensity that Deepster came out with on the PC forum last night then we should be fine. Way to lead by example Deepster your an animal.

Most of those 3’s were open looks. It’s what a packline defense forces. We needed to make them
Jackson shouldn’t be taking threes, especially not 12. Hurley needs to adapt to teams doubling sanogo, sagging on Jackson, and ISOing Karaban and Hawkins

Didn’t see this thread and posted this in the other PeeCee thread

What Cooley did last year was screen sanogo under the basket so the guards can get by for an easy layup. They ran that play over and over and over. Similarly to what Xavier and nova have done. The only difference with Xavier and Nova being that they ISO’s either Karaban or Hawkins.

If Hurley can’t adjust with the starting lineup that’s out there, we may have to switch it up early. That includes our offense. If teams are going to sag on Jackson and dare him to shoot, we have to make the switch faster. Jackson cannot be shooting threes. A lineup of Joey C/Diarra/Newton, Hawkins/Joey C/Alleyne, Jackson, Sanogo, Clingan

The fans and teams of every college we’re going to to play against from here on out knows that all they have to do is get under Jackson and Hurley’s skin and they’ll get T’s. They’re going to go after Jackson a lot more. The refs are now waiting to T up Danny

Add all that in with one of the craziest homecourts in college basketball, it’s going to make for a very close and intense game
