That was with Edsall, I don't get how anyone can be a UConn fan IMO and not watch this team since Mora took over.I'm a fair weather UConn football fan. When they cancel seasons I lose interest.

Really, it's been 40 years. Get over it.I think it's actually embarrassing.

Rings>IG followersOne interesting brand item to look at is how many followers our socials have. For instance, Duke has 1.7mm followers on IG - in another world from a brand perspective. I was at a train station in LI yesterday and saw a random guy (def not a Duke grad) wearing a Duke hoody and hat.
Uconn has 193K. To show you how far ahead Duke is, UNC has 583K (Jordan), UK has 566K and Kansas 309K.
Uconn women are at 586K.
Ohio States FB team has 1.4mm. Duke hoops is simply a brand powerhouse.
How about university of ConnecticutWhenever I say "UConn" into my phone, it still spells "Yukon". How many titles do we have to win?
I thought nike kind of pushed the change as well?I also disliked the move to the "new" logo. It changed a very distinctive Husky to a pretty generic one.
Suzy Herbst is the one who ultimately responsible for it. At a UConn function I asked her if she would like it if someone had changed the Duke (her alma mater) logo to a pink devil. She replied emphatically "No." To which I replied, "That's what you did to us."
Edsall wanted to stop using UConn. He put Connecticut on everything. He had no concept of the power "UConn" could bring to the brand.
With leaders like this it's a wonder we have a brand at all.
It must be from all those phones autocorrecting the word “puke.”Duke, with their IQ, has done a pretty amazing job of creating a "culture" around their brand. Fans/players/athletes/humans love culture. They have a lot going their way - they have Cameron, a historic coach, NBA alumni galore and then all these little rituals they brand the heck out of, like the Cameron Crazies, that baby (as weird as it is), the Brotherhood, etc. They get these generational college talents like Flagg & Zion that just look different.
It doesn't hurt that they have the name of Duke, a cool mascot and are an elite academic institution.
Does make you wonder if there is some opportunity at Uconn, especially with Hurley at the helm, to add some colorful facets to the Uconn experience. Brotherhood = Wolfpack. Gampel Goons. Can't be an obvious copy and has to come from the students. As awesome as he is, not sure GenZ is connecting with a man on an oxygen tank in the rafters going through his U-C-O-N-N.
Your missing out man, it's never too late to jump back on the bandwagon.Yes, Mora's been great.
