There were a several wild pitches in the first game as well. UConn coaching staff has always liked to go for strikeouts on pitches in the dirt, this time it really hurt them.

My thoughts exactly. He should have been out of the inning a couple times. And a 3 run deficit is not a big thing if UConn can start scoring runs.

I was watching both games. It was hard to watch. Clemson was hitting lasers. Notre Dame threw a few wild pitches. One of the Irish pitchers got wrecked trying to avoid a runner scoring on a passed ball. Then the HRs started flying. It made the UConn inning much easier to swallow.
