Looks like Jeff got picked up by the Celtics. That didn't take long...

the fake Woj tweet?

Wow, I saw this on my feed but you are clearly right. Why the hell would someone fake tweet JA getting picked up on waivers? People suck.

yea the No Escalators dude had RT'd it and then I figured something was up when I clicked on it and there were no replies.

Kemba is really struggling right now. Not even getting assists. Hope he settles in soon.

.-.

Gay finished with 29 on 9-12 shooting. Pretty efficient.

Obviously way too early - but he's at 24 ppg on 52 percent shooting. If he regresses to the mean of merely what he did in his half-season in Sacramento last year, he could easily be in the All-Star discussion. That would be one of the greatest change of scenery career rehabs in some time.

I hope he does it. He'd be off the list of NBA punching bags.

First action of the year for Lamb (who started for first time in his career). Has tea high 10 at half on 5-9 (5-5 on 2s and 0-4 on 3s). His 2s looked good - up and under, trademark one hand floater mixed in. His 3s - not so much.

If somebody locates a lost jumpshot, please FedEx it back to Kemba, please.

Hard to understand why Brooks no longer uses Lamb in the PnR when he looked so good at it with Collison and Adams through the early portion of last season. Good game from him in his first game back but they were using him like Westbrook and Durant were out there on the floor. Put him in position to make plays, it doesn't have to be all on Jackson's shoulders, Lamb can pass.

Rudy trying to undo a good start all in one night, terrible shooting night that he compounds by dribbling the ball of his foot in a last second iso and having to force up a 35-40ft heave. Hopefully he can redeem himself in the 2nd OT of this game against the Suns.

Rudy makes game winner!!!!! *

* with 50 seconds left. On a day he shot 5-22 and did almost nothing right. And he missed a wide open 3 after that

(He looked really gassed for some reason - too early in the year to be sucking that much wind, although he was with Team USA so perhaps he's not as early in the year as most)

.-.
Rudy was horrible but made 3 great plays down the stretch, drive and dish to Ben McLemore for a wide open 3 to cut the lead to 1, the go ahead basket on a turnaround J, then a key rebound of a Suns miss b/w 2 Suns players.

.-.
The 6-16 also included a 50-footer at the half and a 30-footer at the end of the first overtime (and the play when he stumbled driving at the end of the second OT and didn't get a foul as he threw something up wildly). Plus 2 end of shot clock air balls, which are less of an asterisk than heaves at the end of a quarter/half, but indicate he wasn't taking bad shots when he had time.

But he's definitely not shooting well right now - four of his makes were at the rim, so he only hit 2 jumpers. But at least his assists have come up lately. He set people up beautifully on a few key possessions that didn't result in assists. Down 1 in final 10 seconds of regulation he found Jefferson with a perfect pass in traffic and the Hawks had to foul. He also collapsed the D and found Zeller and maybe Williams wide open in overtime but they missed. Some good D on Teague too in crunch time, who was frankly dominating the match up for the first 40 minutes.

Because he's a horrible coach?

Good post.

Here are Kemba's numbers at Basketball-Reference: CLICKY!

You can see that, through six games, his numbers on deep 2s and 3s are actually up substantially. But he's been beyond awful at the hoop, and has literally yet to hit a shot from 3-to-10 feet out. Not much better from 10-to-16.

Most likely this is an early season blip, but it could also indicate two things: 1) worse spacing when playing with both MKG and Stephenson, meaning driving lanes get closed down quicker, and 2) some sort of injury that's not allowing him to turn the corner and get an extra step.

I hated the Stephenson signing for them, and still do. They need shooting, not another ball-dominant wild card.

One thing I actually noticed - and was a little puzzled/concerned by - was that Kemba didn't celebrate yesterday as Stephenson hit the game-winner, although he could have had a delayed reaction (the camera moved with Stephenson and Kemba was out of frame pretty quickly). He also could have been gassed and his first reaction was a sigh of relief - or they could have problems getting along already.

Perry Mason over here.
