UConn 2026 Outbound Portal Transfers (*No transfer speculation until announced/posted*)

If the perceived character of Candle is true I could see him telling the team to finish out their commitment to Toledo and make their decisions after the bowl game, and if this turns out to be true then we really landed a diamond in the rough
We know he told the staff members coming with him to stay so the players don’t have a disruption

Yeah. Building a MAC team at UCONN is not something I want. Who cares how many portal kids they end up having. Maybe we swoop in for a few eventually but he better be setting his sights higher than Tuesday football talent
So, you going to tell Coach Candle to send the qb back?

Candle (and staff) have had a pretty good eye for higher end Sunday football talent - he’s put a few dozen players into the NFL (Drafted/UDFA) over the past decade @ Toledo. Looking like one or two more this coming draft including an AP First Team DB.

He gets the benefit of the doubt in talent evaluation in my book.

I didn't see this posted anywhere, unless I missed it. Nebraska has emerged as a strong candidate for Cam:

Nebraska Emerges as a Possible Landing Spot for UConn Star Running Back
Seems like it may be click bait to me. Talks about how he has a relationship with EJ Barthel and how Barthel was "instrumental" in guiding both Cam and the UConn ground game. But the only season Barthel was here with Cam was 2022, where he had 1 carry for 2 yards and redshirted. Think they're stretching the truth a bit here, but perhaps they do have a good relationship with one another.

Still, appreciate you sharing this. It's worth tracking.

We barely beat ball state and buffalo. What exactly did you see in us this year

Are you under impression that Toledo was less than UConn? I believe if the 2 teams played this year, the home team would have won.

One area where I was disappointed this past season was in the trenches.

Although our pass blocking was very good, we weren't as good as I expected in moving bodies from the line of scrimmage, especially against some of the lesser teams on our schedule, who if we are where we should be, would have been getting pushed around the field all game. Our defensive front also wasn't what should have been expected, and played a major role in a couple of close wins that shouldn't have been close as well as the three OT losses.

The MAC has been know for physical play, punching above their weight class, even if they aren't a top tier G level conference. Hopefully the new regime will lead to more physicality in the trenches.

The type of linemen needed who can block for an outside zone running scheme aren't the same linemen who can move the LOS at will. Even against some of UConn's "lesser" opponents this year. The linemen who are agile enough to block a zone run and still move piles, aren't at UConn. They're at OSU, Bama, Georgia, etc.

Utah has a guy Spencer Fano who can do both. I think he's projected to go top 5 in this year's draft. Also the Worlds kid at Oregon. Mauigoa at UM is a third.

There are two pros who I think epitomize the definition of a complete offensive lineman - Walter Jones and Trent Williams. Those two were the best I've seen really at any level. They do not, as the saying goes, grow on trees and nor do they come cheaply.

Last time a #NorwalkCT actually sniffed Nebraska was a great RB from my Alma mater (Brien McMahon Highschool) was Marvin Tomlin.
Would be nice to see that come to fruition if he chooses not to stay here.

The Nebraska QB Raiola has entered the portal. There is no head coaching change there. Cam may want to stick around. Candle could be a breath of fresh air to the program and he could be on board at the start of it.

I'm hoping the majority of these fellas are still wearing National Flag Blue next season. There's a lot of talent on that list!

Damn Juice was poised to have a significant role this year with Bell graduating. Neider too. I'm sad, but I understand. It happens when there is a coaching change. I'd love all of them to stay, but don't blame them if p4 school comes calling.

Hasn't left. Just assume that almost every starter with remaining eligibility is going to test the market every year and you'll be fine. We'll lose some and we'll replace them with proven starters from teams lower on the food chain and players from schools higher up the food chain that haven't become starters yet. That's just the new reality.

I still think the portal can be a net positive for schools like UConn. Sure we'll lose playmakers here and there, but we can also bring in portal kids that can contribute immediately to fill gaps from the big schools. But I'm also selfish and want everyone to stay

I hear ya. But the portal entries seem to be slowing down as of late, so a part of me was hoping some of these guys may not even enter. I was kind of holding out hope that a guy as talented as Vereen is would've entered the portal sometime within the first week if he planned to enter and test the waters. Thought him not entering the first couple weeks was a good sign. Foolish, I know.

Still holding out hope he returns. Loved having Juice here this year.
