UConn 2026 Outbound Portal Transfers (*No transfer speculation until announced/posted*)

Allegedly he’ll get $500k from Colorado St per D’Melio. Mark is out of the loop with his NIL now since the school took it over. So it’s on Candle and UConn to make attempts to keep players they want.

Also said lots of players upset Mora left and still have a good relationship with him.
Even assuming Edwards loves Mora, unless it's for money that would be a strange move to make after four years. It's not a better program and it's a Connecticut kid on the verge of becoming the second leading rusher in school history.

He would later on tweet that UConn should match the offers that come in and he should stay and he also has stated that he has not talked to them about Candle

I would be shocked if CSU offered Cam $500k. Very few running backs are getting that kind of money.

Out of curiosity, are they upset with Mora for leaving or are they upset with UConn?

If it's the latter, either they aren't being rational or there's more to the story than what we know.

New flash here everyone is entering the portal it doesn't mean their leaving, Cam is at least playing in the bowl game that's huge and hopefully entices guys to play especially our olineman.
The press conference for Candle was days ago and he stated that the coming weeks he was going to get to know the kids on the team and staff

The school controls Revenue Share. NIL is different bucket of money.

It was more them liking Mora and him leaving had a lot of impact on why people are in the portal. It makes sense for people in the situation to check what is out there and Candle is just getting to fully know all of these guys is known as a quality recruiter

Much respect for Cam, however we have to guard against over committing resources to one player or position. I would image that he would be the highest paid player at UConn at 500k. If you could get 3 quality linemen for that, what's more valuable to a program in our position?

Much like Mora’s move it would be a head scratch if he leaves for Colorado St.

And agree on legacy - Cam stays and becomes the stuff stories are made of…. Leaves just another footnote and don’t think it will improve his NFL prospects. Could he make more $$ sure but I hope he takes a good look before he leaps.

Some of this may come down to players talking and find out who is staying like last year with Joe Fagnano and Skyler Bell. We have a lot of big teams to play next season so players can show out right here in UConn football country.

I would say with 500k we could get 5 quality linemen. I wouldn’t imagine we’re paying on average any more than 50-60k with both revenue sharing and NIL. A player might make more but not the whole lineup.

Your bargaining position improves simply by announcing an intention to enter the portal. Skyler Bell showed the way last year. Desirable top tier players like Edwards, Murawski and Brown, and some of the others might really want to stay and are using this for leverage to wrangle a better deal. And why wouldn't they?

This was my question too because as far as we know, UConn wasn’t pushing Mora out the door. He made that decision himself. Now if the players loved him and now that he’s gone they want to move on, that’s a different story

I’m not shocked by Cam and was hoping it wouldn’t happen. But like someone said, he was here for four years and was a huge contributor. RB has a short shelf life and I don’t see him playing in the NFL, but who knows. Why not cash in now and make some money. He’s earned it on the field. He also has watched three big pieces on the OL enter the portal and the OC leave. That is not helping either.

Hopefully we can keep him but I’m not putting our odds high here,

He should listen to what's available to him and the only way to do that is to enter the portal, but hopefully, his best opportunity will remain at UConn.

People need to remember that Mora applied to Colorado St in 2019. They were not ready to trust him at that point and went with Addazio. There is nothing UConn could have done to keep him and I doubt players who are upset he left are blaming UConn. It sucks for the players and they have every right to be mad but we did hire someone who has demonstrated success as head coach. The NFL players from Toledo confirm his value.

We were all looking for a 10th win, but playing allows Candle to evaluate and players who maybe didn't play a lot or will play next season some run.

Curious, how do you know these amounts are accurate for UConn and how would it compare to P4 and other top G5 schools?

I don’t know squat lol. In my statement I said these two phrases, I would say and I wouldn’t imagine we’re paying anymore than, to paraphrase myself. This is just what I gather from reading and seeing what others have received. The P4 would be paying a considerable amount more but it would be competitive with G5 if you’re asking my opinion.

I mean, this is funny. He finished the year what, 6th on our depth chart? (Edwards, Brown, Rosa, Lindbergh Coleman and maybe T. Smith ahead of him?). If he is a good MAC player and can contribute more there, more power to him. This is exactly the situation in which players shouldn’t have to sit a year — they want to move down a level and play football. Not because you want to squeeze a little more money out of fans/supporters.

You have to be careful with portal rankings right now as the portal entries from all teams is just getting started.

Toledo has no one in the portal right now. We have 17.
Yeah. Building a MAC team at UCONN is not something I want. Who cares how many portal kids they end up having. Maybe we swoop in for a few eventually but he better be setting his sights higher than Tuesday football talent

It is early still, and they have a game coming up soon. I would expect some to enter then
