So Ellisen starts the first of hopefully 2 games today, that is what I thought would happen. Would guess Sullivan would get the start in the 2nd game assuming it happens, but you never know when he might show up on a day like this when you need a win in the first game to get to the second game.

Other odd observation. At the beginning of the season, I suspect that everyone associated with UConn baseball thought Korey Morton was most likely position player on the team to get selected in the MLB draft this summer. Instead, Morton is back to last in the batting order, and has had the odd struggles with various facets to his game this season.

Struck out DeMartino (who seems like a… jerk) twice in that at bat. Not sure what the ump saw. I’ve never once complained about an ump here before but that was bizarre. Glad he got it anyway, very well done, impressive composure.

Top 4th, Xavier with a leadoff single. After a wild pitch, a 1 out error on Padilla brings in a run, 3-1 UConn the score. After a passed ball on a strikeout for the 2nd out, a ground out ends the inning. Ellisen at 76 pitches, and has 5 strikeouts and no walks so far. The run is unearned.

Bottom 4th, Garbowski with a leadoff single (his bat has certainly heated up of late), and Smith with a 1 out single to put runners on the corners. Smith steals 2B with 1 out to put both runners in scoring position. Pitching change.

Tammaro walks to load the bases with 1 out, a double play ends the inning with no runs coming in. 3-1 UConn.

A 1 out single and a hit by pitch loads the bases. After a strikeout, a 2 out RBI single ties the game at 3. A fly out ends the inning.
