UCONN -11.5

There was a game last year when there was some snow and they opened up the bottom sections at Gampel for anyone in attendance to move down. I forget the opponent.

About 10 years ago there was also a game at Gampel on a snowy night. I think it was a big game vs. Pitt if I'm correct. It was the only time my father didn't use his season tix.

Anyone know the record low for attendance at a Gampel conference game? I assume it was during a big snow storm.
There was 5,505 at Gampel to watch the UMass-Lowell game last year.
I know this is non-conference.

That game was also played at 7pm on weekday, with students on campus.

The 9pm tip, couple with students on break, is what will limit this crowd from reaching that number, or even the number in attendance that we saw versus St Joes.

There were 5,065 at Gampel vs. UCF during the 2017-18 season. This was on Wed., Jan 10, and may have been that snowy night when they opened up the lower seats.

I took advantage of the super cheap courtside seats so I'll try to make up for a small crowd by being extra psycho on the court if they start sucking....lol

We played Tulane prime time Saturday night the Miller/Gibbs/DHam year that was close to a sellout and it was actually a very exciting game. I think we needed a late run to win.

Based on matchups, Carlton should be a factor tonight. He will outweigh his defender by 40+ pounds.

This is how Vegas makes money. Set a line that looks way too high following your worst two games of the season (which also happen to be your first two road games) and bait a self-loathing fan base into giving the 11.5 against an over-matched opponent. I'm sure the same thing will happen in reverse on Sunday.

I'm not making any predictions, but I will say that if they don't win tonight it may be time to panic a bit. I don't want to hear about the losing habits of the upperclassmen because this game is winnable with the freshman alone.

I’ve been in panic mode. How the heck are we even favored? Glad I don’t bet!

That is one of the more insane lines I've ever seen given the recent play of both sides.

I can't believe the line hasn't moved since it opened. Either no one's betting it, or there's equal money on both sides.

I’m no expert when it comes to gambling but doesn’t this mean Vegas wants you to bet Tulane??? Maybe they know something

In more public games, where many people across the country may be betting it, books may skew the line to get people to bet a certain away, or to avoid an onslaught of winning wagers.

This game tonight is a rather obscure game, and will likely generate very little action outside of the respective fan bases, or extremely sharp bettors. This means that Vegas wants equal action on both sides, so they can win on the vig. This line is only meant to generate equal bets on both teams.

Thing that worries me is the energy in the building tonight. 9 pm start mid-week at Gampel while students are on break. What are we going to see for a crowd tonight? Could be smaller than St. Joe's.
I don’t think there is any doubt it will. For St joes we were undefeated and season was fresh with optimism. Coming off two dreadful performances I am expecting an embarrassing turnout for tonight.

I just can't see UConn being an 11 point favorite after the last 2 games. Now that I have said that, UConn will win by 15 or more.

Can Carlton make two and 3 footers? Will CV be hot? Will Tulane take Polley out of the game? Will Bouk start to make more of his open shots? Can we get Akok involved in the offense? Our offense is the problem and the question for bettors. Oh, and then there is our free throw shooting. I will be happy if we get a win. The Dolphins winning in week 17 at Gillette is why I do not bet.

Do you guys really have a 9pm start? W T H? Those things will not be happening in the future.
