I think that was Hurley's best coached game of the year. The adjustments and the bench management were aces. Can't blame Danny for the dumb TOs. Sticking with Ross was absolutely necessary - even if he didn't drain those 3s, his defense mattered a ton. We didn't need a ton of points from the PGs, but we did need to limit TOs, and both Mal and Silas did that. This win was really satisfying as the contributions came from all over. And I loved that AK not only set a personal scoring high, but he kept Mullins' spirits up after some dumb plays.

Gotta to keep in mind ucla was missing their top scorer. I know we can counter with a limited Silas and absent JStew but need to take it with a grain of salt.

That is true. But they essentially beat Michigan State without him and then took Purdue down to the wire without both him and Dent (who was sidelined and only played 10 minutes). Their guys were going to compete and the game was quite losable if we didn’t compete back.

UCLA can make excuses for the loss if they want. We did what we had to do and didn’t let an opportunity to advance slip away.

We're in the frigging sweet sixteen. We should be a lot healthier next weekend than we were this weekend and we're still one of the top half dozen teams in the country (per those expert enough to get a vote in the polls).

Why are some here so miserable?

Ross off the bench makes sense. We can see how the game is playing out and maybe where we need him defensively. Perhaps it’s Fears - or maybe Coen Carr is giving us problems on the wing. But he can come in with no fouls and try to be our cooler if someone needs to be cooled.

I am finally seeing what some others having been saying for weeks now. Hurley should start Ross over Solo. I feel Ross’s confidence is sky high and he has contributed on both ends of the floor. Solo’s confidence seems to have taken a nose dive. Nothing against Solo, just seems it could be best for the team if Ross got the start.

Ross played more minutes tonight and is doing well in current role. Changing to starting lineup would torpedo Ball’s confidence. The team doesn’t have a lot of scorers, I think its a bad idea to write off Ball. To beat the good teams ahead they will probably need him to hit shots in one of the games. Seems like better coaching to keep the same starters and just play Ross more if he is playing well. Maybe sub Ross in earlier.

For example, if you set it at 30 points, the wager cannot be weighed the same as for example better than 38% from three and a dagger late in the game.

Before this goes much further, can you commit to attending five home football games in the fall?

Both players are used to their roles.

Ross might not respond well to being a starter and Ball definitely won’t by coming off the bench.

Bench players aren’t featured in Turbo Tax commercials.

Got to love Karaban playing up in this tourney. His game one performance was overshadowed by Reed’s monster game. But he's been our best player easily and it's great to see him looking to end his career with the biggest bang possible.

Bent the “hero” is either being the obvious player of the game, like Reed and AK were respectively, or hitting a game winning shot and/or stopping a game winning shot.

Do we agree on that? And how did you so quickly change your stakes from 4 to 5 games before we even established mine???

It seemed like the moment was going to be too big for the first eight minutes or so but they came out of the gate with really strong effort and it ended up paying off. The energy of the team seemed way better today than it had in a while and I think it all came down to Karaban stepping up and taking the pressure off of everyone else. One thing we haven't had all year is a go to guy. Reed was that Friday and Karaban was that today.
