UCLA Post Game Thread

Malachi really played steady, Very focused and under control. Our D was pretty good the last 30 minutes of the game. Solo needs to stop thinking he is only a 3 point shooter. He can bring more to the offense. Team had some great cuts and passes in second half. Alex carried us till everyone else figured it out.

Hey NCAA committee, that's two, count em, 2 Big East teams in the sweet 16.

You can count the number of ACC teams on one finger.

Show some respect next time. But we'll take the $12million so far for the conference.
who else should have gotten a bid? The fourth place team, Seton Hall, beat nobody and every team behind them was .500 or worse on the season.

It was a bad year for the Big East. UConn and St. John's doesn't change that.

.-.
Crazy we are underdogs to MSU. It's what KP reads, but still seems off.
It's totally correct. They should not be favored to win this game, especially without clarity on how well Demary will play (and to a lesser extent Stewart, who I don't expect to see).

.-.
I'm not off Solo. In the tourney, "starting" is an honorific. Solo will come around.

Y'all were down on AK.....till you weren't

Y'all were down on Ross (egregiously so) till you weren't

Y'all were down on Bray....till you weren't

Support.
We of course support him and every other player but the evidence is convincing we're a better team with Ross on the court. Doesn't mean Solo can't help us out by hitting mid range shots and seeing some threes fall.

THAT'S why we have Alex Karaban! He was on a mission from God.

"Ross the Boss" - Huge 3's, a slam, a steal at the end, a wicked dish to Reed, defense and also getting fouled (and draining those 3FTs). Did it all. Huge difference maker.

Malachi super solid game again. Way to step up kid. You did what we asked of you.

Nice to see Mullins get back going. Love it, but please please don't step out of bounds anymore.

Lotta lotta travelling calls on UConn. One of em was even real.

Fear of the Bear left our shooters open.

Glad Danny put Solo back in at the end

Oh and one more thing - shout out to Mick Cronin for the technical and the free points.

Pretty much everything I wanted to say. Add that I think it meant a lot to the team to see Silas on the floor, not 100 but stabilizing the team on both ends. And Malachi, huge game didn’t force anything just did his job running the team and was real good on the defensive end as well.

Ross was Superman first half and if they didn’t call call some ticky tack crap on him 2nd half we may have seen more.

Alex? I mean what can you say. The man doesn’t want his last season to end with an L that’s for sure. He was so good, wow!

Sweet 16 baby!!!👍🏻

Oh and I wanted to add a photo, sighting who is it:

AK - as he always does, hits enormous shots

Malachi - 6 assists, solid D

Silas - just having him on the court is huge.

Ross - we are, rn, a better team with him on the court

Mullins - huge shots to give us some life when we needed it. He’s got to be a 15-20/gm guy moving forward.

Solo - …

And to the fool who said he hoped we’d lose bc he hates this team. Pretty sure he’s a regular poster. You do not deserve this team. You’re an embarrassment.

@Huskies990411 ?

Edit: Sorry buddy - it was @TheChamps990411

@temery were you there tonight? My sister kept asking me.

What a game, AK is our dog. I hope certain people will remember nights like this when they say he's replaceable, not our best player, or whatever dumb crap - he IS what UConn is all about and is a Husky through-and-through.

Mullins hopefully turning the corner on his 3pt shooting but dang it... stop with those silly TOs! Ross is looking like he's desperate to be a starter and I love it. He got some bad fouls called against him IMO too. Glad to see that Smith is holding his ground in these games, I guess the BE size/physicality was too much for him but in these looser games he can muck it up. Super happy to see Demary on the floor even if he didn't do too much. I feel for Solo, this is like AK's end of year slump in 2025 and it sucks - he's a Husky and I hate to see it. I know he can pull out of it and contribute.

Look, I'll take the tech but that was BS. That was worse than when Hurley got one for urging the crowd to cheer/stand up.

LET'S GO!!! I'm bringing the Kool-Aid and you better DRINK IT!

.-.
.-.
fans still claiming that Ross is not a starter???. He's the most++++++ on our team.

Make your case. It's not summer 2025.

Things are different than they were then. He's now proven his value and played winning basketball, and just as importantly, Solo is in a brutal stretch. So now that things are different, the conversation is different.

He's integral regardless. I think Hurley likes the spark off the bench. But he's playing important minutes, that's the important takeaway. No sense in hashing out a back and forth on him starting in this postgame, imo.
