We've played some pretty bad teams throughout the years, but at least Seton Hall and Providence have kept the uniform classy.

The game last night was tough on the eyes in every visual aspect of the game.

Couple days until USF so a little time to kill, any other horrific combos?

Those Rutgers teams, with the giant R and parquet floor were pretty bad combined, with, well Rutgers basketball.

I don't know what to say.

I suspect this is a backhanded dig at UCF in general ... as part of the ongoing hatred of all things on our path through the AAC to some Oz. UCF is a 50,000+ growing campus & they have athletes in Florida. I suspect that they have the capacity to be damn good; who wants to regularly get beat by 25 and more by UConn, Cincy, Memphis & SMU (and this year Louisville). That's what happened in the Big East. When Seton Hall sucked (YES ... Raftery was the coach), they quickly made the decision to try to be competitive + Carlesimo. And, we sucked for a few years through Dom Perno years. You simply cannot be thrilled to be in a conference that kicks your ass &, in a place like ORLANDO, you'll draw no one if you are 1-9 in conference.

How good is AAC? (*Because) We have lost the BE forever; not even that Catholic conglomeration has any feel for the old days. SMU is the poster child. Any of these schools "COULD" be good. Even Rutgers. They are Big Solid Athletic-caring places. They should be better than Providence or Seton Hall. We will see.

As for Uniforms ... we have seen bad ones over the years. That UCF wasn't awful.

Definitely an over response! I'm with you regarding your point of view, but this (op) was a toddler pointing his finger at someone and the bomb squad (your response) came into action.

And yes that floor was horrific. Really difficult to watch on television.

I see his brother (who turned him in) at charity functions. I think mental illness is a very tough thing ... and I am related to that as well.

His brother is probably haunted by it but he ended up saving lives.

A playful thread about ugly uniforms has now turned into a thread about murderers and mental illness...

Where have I done here, lol.

UCF's uniforms and floor murdered my eyes. That's the ugliest thing on television and I'm including Bob Costas' eye.

The only good thing you can say about UCF basketball is that they want so much to be good that they were willing to cheat their asses off to do it. The bad news is that they were already caught.

As Steve Carell said when he observed Pam giving birth, " I had to wash my eyes". Ugly game all around!

The big guy (who is almost twice my weight) was fun to watch, though.

The court is supposed to somehow be reminiscent of playground blacktop. I don't see it. But MARKETS and GROWTH.

The floor didn't look nearly as bad in person as it does on tv. In fact I mentioned that to friends prior to the game. I would trade Gampel for their facility in a heart beat.

I don't think that was a basketball team, I think they just used particular members of the football team and suited them up in an impromptu uni.

I liked the floor and thought the uniform was fine. The team was another story.
It doesn't matter whether we eventually go to the ACC or the Big, we will never recover what we had in the BE.

In what sense? If you mean that we will never have the exact same mix of teams, then of course I agree...

But if you mean that we will never have great rivalries again like we had in the Big East, or that we won't have great teams to play against like we had in the Big East, I'm not sure I agree with that.

The Big 10 has Michigan State, Michigan, tOSU, and Indiana for starters. Would LOVE to be in a conference like that. Of course we won't have 50 years of rivalry games to fall back on, but it would be the Holy Grail of conferences for every sport we have.

In the ACC, similar - what's not to love about playing Duke, UNC, etc etc?

The RAC was the hottest smelliest loudest place to play
uCF was fine
Not very big but the cheerleaders were fun
Lots of UC fans, food not so good, loud sound system with crappy rap
But we won so who cares

You just lost as I watched James madison on their home court tonight - the absolute worst court in history……OMG guys can hide in it, it's hideous and shouldn't even be allowed!

There are rivalries to be had in most conferences but we will never have the geographical advantage we had in the BE. No MSG conference tournament for one thing. All the schools you mentioned have been playing each other for years and I don't think you automatically fit in and develop a rivalry. It takes time to create a history. You could drive to Philadelphia if you really wanted to see UConn at Villanova but you aren't doing that as easily for many games in the BIG ,the ACC or the AAC for that matter. Geography does make a difference as well as history.
That said, I'd be thrilled at this point to go to the ACC or the BIG. Football changed everything but not necessarily for the better for college basketball.

I just think it's a weird color scheme and uniform style for a team called the Knights. If they were the Yellowjackets or something it'd make a bit more sense.
