I couldn’t agree more. It’s because of that horn which he thinks is cute, is why I turn the sound down on these games. Everyone does not want to hear a horn , cowbell or any other device that makes noise throughout the game. It’s irritating. People go to a game for enjoyment. The needs of the many out weigh the needs of the few. Remember who said that? IMO, he was right. That horn from her father is beyond obnoxious. If he brings that into Gampel, I won’t hesitate to confront him. No one should have to watch or play a basketball game with that in the back(fore)ground.
Sooooo you're saying Azzi Fudd might grow a couple more inches????Just thought I’d point out that Tim Fudd is 6’7” and I’m guessing over 250lbs. Just sayin……

I believe Spear may not be with the team. Cori Close tweet: States a player missing - most likely Spear. Only one player obscured by Paopao and behind Azzi. That may be so. But I did notice that Spear is not even on the bench with the US team. If she was injured, I would be expect to see her cheering on her teammates from the sidelines. Sick? Suspended?

Yes if having a tall Stepdad ( well he adopted her) causes growth.Sooooo you're saying Azzi Fudd might grow a couple more inches????![]()
WiseOne, your comment is noted and understood. However, it should not be the deciding factor on whether or not to continue to blow that incessant horn. That sir is an extremely poor position to take when arguing/debating that point. That position would suggest that the wishes and whims of the USA players and their parents should take priority over the comfort and respect of the other fans in attendance.Tim Fudd stated on twitter that the young ladies on the team love the horn! If the team is for it then I’m for it. I’m speaking of the USA U19 team.

All good but what about Azzi Fudd?Aziz leads everyone in the tournament with an assist/turnover ratio = 8.5.![]()
Well at least we don't have to wonder if Azzi can hit 3's.

Jordy, you’re not alone!!!Jordy Jordy Jordy. Pick on someone you can handle. Oldude?
If I’m the event organizer/arena operators, I want EVER do you want to table in there YONE to enjoy the games. Not just a select few. I’ll be watching on TV. I can always turn the sound down so his horn won’t bother me personally. I was simply championing the fans in attendance that would rather not listen to his horn for two hours. Then the “chicken littles” will appear.Yeah, until the next time she misses three in a row.![]()

On the horn subject, might we be anticipating a problem that doesn’t exist in UConn WCBB?

Right. I forgot. LolIsn't that what this board is for???![]()
Her pull up game is her best asset. She has the textbook stop and pop midrange jumper. She has great court vision and looks first, is completely unselfish, has a great sense of the flow of the game, and plays very anticipatory defense. Her shot is great but I didn't see any pull ups. She is a true UCONN player.
Maybe. It’s worth noting that Azzi is leading all players in 3-pt shooting with a red hot 65% on 11/17. As I watch her shoot that textbook jumper from the arc, just as with Paige, I am shocked when it doesn’t splash the net.Her pull up game is her best asset. She has the textbook stop and pop midrange jumper.
Friday, 2:30 est vs SpainWhen is our quarterfinal game?
Maybe someone who has seen Azzi play in HS games can weigh in on the horn issue. That might give us a clue as to the probability for horn action at UConn games. Milford, was the Fudd horn heard at any of Azzi's HS games you attended?WiseOne, your comment is noted and understood. What about the hundreds of other spectators that find the horn obtrusive, and would prefer not to hear it? It’s unfortunate that arena operations personnel (ushers) did not ask him (politely) to stop blowing the horn, and not bring it into the arena. Are the games being put on for the enjoyment of all, or just the players and parents of team USA?![]()

I might be wrong but I thought her father was on the bench of her HS games. Anyhow, a HS game can’t give you a clue on college arenas noise maker regulations.Maybe someone who has seen Azzi play in HS games can weigh in on the horn issue. My same thought. She was very HOT from three point land!Does anyone know what Jewell Spear, after a very good first game against Italy, has not played since then? Injury? Illness? Left the team?

Please be willing to admit that you are not in the arena.Since it’s only a few games I don’t see anything wrong with it. If it’s for UCONN games then I would have to rethink it lol. Right now I see it as loud summer fun!
DeBerry is behind Betts, Ware and Feagins. She is getting about equal time with Wohlfenbarger. DeBerry has shown some promise. She has good shooting mechanics, decent hands and a willing defender. She is behind some good players presently and that probably won't change when she returns to Storrs.Haven't watched the games, but the stats show that Amari DeBerry has played the fewest minutes per game, and is averaging about 3 ppg. Anything going on? She's our big hope for the front line. Insights?
The one thing I would add is that while Amari has room to develop, like most Bigs heading to college, she is most definitely not a “project.” Amari has genuine ability and a nice skill set that will certainly improve under Geno & Jamelle.DeBerry is behind Betts, Ware and Feagins. Mdoggie is right. Tim was an Assistant Coach for SJC when Azzi played there. He was on the bench and not using an air horn. I too find the horn annoying, but maybe the international games would be too quiet otherwise. I do not expect to hear air horns at UConn games. I think the conditions on the tickets may expressly prohibit them.I might be wrong but I thought her father was on the bench of her HS games.
