Nice play Stewie, how to use those long arms.

Graves needs to put another move on the FRA post, not just the fly-by

Jones, Graves, harper were terrible in 1st half, Stewie wide open in corner, instead harper clunks one of the side of the rim.

I am really surprised with Alexis Jones. She has not looked very good at all the last couple game.

I've been picking on Jones, but she's playing poor defense on Epoupa and now has 3 fouls. She's also taking some questionable shots and then had a 5 second penalty on an inbounds play. She did not have a good first half. USA leads 27-20 at the half when it should have been a double digit lead. 11 Turnovers for Team USA with Jones having 4 of them.

One thing I've noticed watching these games is that the European post players have great footwork around the basket and seem to make easier layups then the USA players. Of course Tuck and Graves are not true post players.

Well thoughts for the first half. first game i've actually seen...

Stewie is not only the best player on the team, but she is one of the best decision makers. She drives to the hoop and if she's swarmed or the shot is not there, she does NOT force it up, but passes it out. Graves and Tuck, on the other hand, could learn from that.

Harper is really really good.

Jefferson makes poor decisions SHOOTING the ball, but she's far and away the best ball handler on the team and the offense flows better when she's in. she's also the best defender - she was the only one who came close to being able to stop Epoupa.

I realize its' a bit of an all star type team, but it seems the only reason USA is winning is because they have better players. France seems to run much better offense, getting themselves open, but are missing open shots, and also are being harassed by Stewie's defense.

Guess these refs don't like to call moving screens on France, instead they call a foul on Jones.

True. The majority of France's pick and rolls from the foul line would be called as moving screens here. And I think 3 seconds was called only once in the first half though it seems as though France's center is building a house in there.

Well, that escalated quickly.

7 point lead at the half turns into a 21 point lead at the end of the third.

USA leads 47-26 end of 3rd qtr. USA's defense has been dominant. 10 minutes to the gold Medal. Can't see France outscoring team USA by 21 points in 4 qtr. :)

Breanna Stewart is now USA's U19 all-time leading scorer. With her three pointer in the third period, she reached 149 points, two more than the previous record holder, whom some of you may know, Maya Moore.

Alexis Jones has now tied the USA U19 record for assist in a tournament with 39.

The other record holder is Ariel Massengale in 2011

USA's team defense is not letting up even though the game is out of hand. Reminds you of a UConn game. Don't play great offense, yet team Defense causes a blowout to happen.

Is there any doubt who the MVP of the tournament will be?

Morgan Tuck has 19 steals, only 4 behind the record set by Alana Beard. You don't usally expect a post player to be leading the team in steals, much less in shouting distance of the record.
