It would help if Team USA played some defense on Brazil's outside shooters. No excuse for the wide open 3's.

Tuck started attacking the basket later in the 2nd qtr, but couldn't finish with the same touch she has shown in previous games. Obviously this is a much better team than any they've faced and it's not just a matter of turn and shoot.

Morgan needs to keep going in there and either drawing contact or putting up a soft[er] shot.

Yep- one the reasons why I think Iverson when I watch her more than I do a previous women's player.

I hope she bulks up a little...she could be something special if she doesn't get knocked around...

.-.
I don't think Brazil is that much better than other teams here, just think USA forgot when the game began - I expect a big second half.

People said the same thing about AI. :)

But yeah, if she can gain some muscle without losing her speed or flexibility, I'm all for it.

Brazil scored 18 point while holding the USA to 7.

Since then, the USA has 23, and Brazil only 3.

You can't get much more of a swing.

Take a look at the sprinters sometime...they can carry a lot of muscle...

I don't know what the announcers are saying, but I heard, "Ko-nect-ee-cut" a few times.

I like the mucho traffico when Bre tries to pass through 3 people in the paint to Morgan...

USA now with a double digit lead, they won't lose this game. Its probably good that they are struggling as many on this U18 team will be on the U19 team going for a World Championship next year. The U19 tournament will have tougher European teams and possibly Australia.

Tuck rips down the rebound, then the give and go with Mabrey at the other end...

#13 for Brazil is a nice player. She's their leading scorer and playing good defense.

Mo with quite possibly the wildest shot I've seen in 2012 ....:D

More importantly, it's a wonder she didn't injure herself on the play (thank goodness she's OK)

Brazil scored 16 points in the first quarter and has scored 15 since.

.-.
Well...the announcer talked about Moriah for about 5 minutes after that full gainer with the 1-1/2 twists...

Mabrey was shooting threes at a 48% clip before today. She is now just about 50% for the tourney. Wow!

Great cut by Mo there. Love it when the PG can be on either end of a backdoor.
