Can we please use this chant more at football games? It sounds so good at our basketball games, yet we barely ever use it at the Rent. (I think we may do it after a touchdown?)

The Jets have a similar chant that they say during each kickoff, let's do that U-C-O-N-N UCONN, UCONN, UCONN! chant at the at each kickoff. It would sound GREAT on TV.

It sounds so good at basketball games bc it’s a sell out crowd. We need more fans in the seats before something like this would work at the Rent, although I like it.

as a jets fan, i've learned that you need to score touchdowns in order to hear the J-E-T-S on a kickoff (i.e. they don't do it when the OTHER team scores, nor when NYJ gets a FG), ergo lots of silence at the meadowlands the last 10 years. oddly i feel we'd face the similar issue at the rent :/

maybe lets not do it after touchdowns lol

I remember at some of the basketball games we took the family to at Mohegan Sun, there was a chant of:
UCONN, HUSKIES
UCONN, HUSKIES
UCONN, HUSKIES
HUSKIES, UCONN
WOOF
or something along those lines. With a big crowd in a stadium, that would sound neat.

Doing the wave with 5800 people in attendance is just embarrassing...

I usually hear this at around the concourse

You could fill the empty seats with mannequins that are advertising something. Could be an additional revenue generator.

I dislike this cheer, only due to the need of each male that says UConn to say it like they are puking at the same time.

Bring back the “Caterpillar. “ Cheerleaders used to do that at the Civic Center in the pre Big Red Jeremy days.

I have to say, I'm not a huge fan of that chant in the stadium setting, although I've participated in it regularly. It seems like it's often completely completely unrelated to what's happening in the game. On the other hand it's terrific when you're lining up to go into a game, or on the way out. It's just that it often seems misplaced during a game.

Now a deafening U C O N N chant on the other hand after a huge play is, am I somewhat jaded opinion, one of the great cheers in sports. Maybe that's a generational thing though.

I'll be there but a big crowd in a stadium has been absent for some time. I still stand and shout it proud. This while the dance squad runs the back of the end zone holding up a flag and the letters spelling it out. Some times getting the timing right. ;)

I was over that chant after freshman orientation when we did it non-stop for two days.
Undergrads get all the fun. :)Grad students get "Welcome, now get to work on some manuscripts so that I get more grant money". That said, I enjoyed my grad experience at UConn more than my undergrad years at other university.

'Sure. I'll put you in charge. Wear a big red shirt so we'll know where to look.

The Jets have been losers since Gastineau and Klecko. Has a chant helped them? I’d rather see Mora and his team make their statement on the scoreboard.

I didn't. Sorry, I do wish I went elsewhere. But part of it was there wasn't much to do as a grad student and I didn't want to mix with undergrads.

So it goes. You're stuck with me because I like football

Rent to a bunch of grad students, and their life has monk like tendencies, depending on their program

My main gripe was I had no outlet. The ones that did well either liked to party and didn't care about being separate from undergrads or those that already had a relationship or were basically hermits.

This gets back to uconn not being a proper college town

I was an older grad student with a family, so I had them to divert and take up my attention. That said, going to Ted's in between late afternoon classes was a great way to decompress before going to the next class to listen to profs pontificate.

My brother used to call that "The Husky Sniff."

Went to grad school in Amherst, better town, still undergrad dominated.
