Some positive news. Love this kids game, and I hope he comes here. Will be hard to lure away from Duke and Kentucky. Hopefully we have a good turn out and play a good game!
 
Nice love his game. I think uk has their hooks in him..:-/
 
It's nice that he's visiting, but there's no chance.
 
Probably just wants to see a good game for free.
 
Well that took the escalators quickly. Maybe it's my ignorance, but he never seemed like the Kentucky type. He seemed too classy for them. They do recruit very well from New Jersey though.... Just FYI Duke has a comfortable lead in the all knowing Crystal Ball.

why are we even bothering with kids we have no chance at? If the kid isnt coming here then why is the staff wasting time? Move on to someone else.

who said that! recruiting is changing all the time... that is the fun of it.

word was that he was earmarked for Duke or Kentucky. Pops has a lot of clout in his recruitment, correct?

There are other reasons than to have the kid come in, evening there is no shot with him right now. It can leave a good impression for future recruits, high school coaches, AAU coaches or if he decides to transfer in the future (Purvis/Gbinije). Or maybe UK/Duke grab other highly ranked kids at his position first. But yeah it's a long, long shot.

Our coaches must like wasting money hosting kids we have no chance at signing. Maybe they have budgeted dollars that they lose on 1/1 if they don't use it.

I don't know the rules very well. So on an unofficial the school can't pay for anything? I know the school can't pay for travel and housing but I'm not sure about other things.

Pretending I know nothing about the rules, after travel and housing what are you left with? Tickets and food? Again in the grand scheme how much is that, if permissible?
 
Its not an official. The Battle's are paying for the trip themselves. All of it.
 
Well if the Battle's are paying for the trip themselves wouldn't you think there has to be some interest.

Regardless of interest, it would behoove any kid to go see as many college environments ad possible during his recruitment. I'm sure there are things he likes about UConn that he can compare to the other schools. And hell, who knows? Maybe he's a fan if Ollie and considering giving us a second chance. Anything's possible.
 
Obviously some interest but the belief is he wants to be a big fish in a big pond.

A little upset with a loud, raucous crowd today could go a long way in making it more interesting of a "Battle" here too!;)

They know what's up.

Doesn't cost them anything to have Battle and some of his team up for a game.
 
as long as he's here, we have a shot. I don't get this horse sh it that we can't compete with dook or kentucky. KO is a good recruiter, despite not landing some guys. the fans will show up and the atmosphere should be great. Plus, he'll see the new championship center and trophy's. stop peeing in your panties and let KO worry about landing this kid and posting drivel that we don't have a shot, as far as I'm concerned, they still have the Uconn name on our jerseys.
