It's tough for a kid like Banks. He's been at UConn for 4 years and he has 4 tackles in the 15 games he has participated in.

What's odd is he is already off the Spring roster, but Lwal Uguak is still on it.
I thought I knew who Banks is but now I'm thinking I have him mixed up with someone else.
Is there another DB who made some great plays but got injured and missed quite a few games last year?

Fits the description, rising JR( or RS SO) from St. TA in FLA....he got some PT as a FR and started a few this year IIRC, until a leg injury :

When I look at those portal stats, they kind of fit fairly well with the perception of conference strength:

1) SEC 62.7%
2) Big 10 61.3%
3) ACC 56.8%
4) Big 12 51%
5) Pac12 50%
5) AAC 50%
7) Mountain West 45.2%
8) MAC 43.2%
9) Sun Belt 37.6%
10) CUSA 32.2%

Maybe you switch the Big 12 and the ACC.

I think the more interesting stat would be what percentage found new places at the same overall level or better. P5 or P5 for instance. Or even up one, G5 or Indy to P5 for instance. So far only one of five UConn portal players finding places has managed to stay at FBS. But that may be about to change with Lucien and Lwal as some have mentioned.

See a tweet from above. 47.6% of P5 players have found a home in another P5 and the rest are G5 or below. If I remember correctly, it's not common for G5 or FCS players players to move up to P5.

Which makes Coyle leaving for Purdue really sting.

Being on this list under the same coaching team is a sign of a problem. Being on this list when you change coaches would be normal.
I think there is another mitigating factor for UConn. If my counting is correct, UConn only had 6 players complete their eligibility in 2021 plus 1 who left for the NFL draft. Thus, there had to be a large number of players with eligibility left that would not be invited back in order to bring in new players.

Despite the rumor, kids playing at G5 and FCS can trade up. For them, it’s a 2d chance to play at highest levels. For schools, it can be much easier to evaluate kid who played in college versus a kid still thinking about his sr prom.

Leipold left...but you knew that and apparently a lot of kids arent in tune with the new staff after a disappointing season.

Thanks, I did not catch that. The rest of it would be the G5 and Indy portal players.

UConn is at 37.5%; slightly below the reported level of Transfer portal sets for G5. You might notice the trending: OLine then DLine get lots of activity.
