Transfer Portal Starting to Load

As the resident OSU/ huskies fan, I really liked him. He was going to be a huge piece for us next year. bizarre move.
Can we afford another foul prone guy?

As a sophomore, Stewart began the season as Ohio State's starting power forward but switched to center when fellow five-star transfer Aaron Bradshaw was suspended from the team. Foul troubles plagued the 6-9, 220-pound Stewart, but he finished the year averaging 5.7 points and 5.8 rebounds while committing a team-high 103 personal fouls.

An elite rebounder, Stewart finished with a defensive rebound rate of 27.1%, the 14th-best rate in the nation according to KenPom.com. His effectiveness was limited by an average of 7.5 fouls committed per 40 minutes.

Yeah the foul troubles were bad. I think there are better options for his role.

Another West Coast transfer add. Probably not someone we would look at but I wonder if the West Coast cutoff is 3 am EST.

I wonder if he would come back East.

Why not? At this point he feels like a redundant add, would stir the coup. I don’t think Hurley want to bottleneck the back court further after the Adams sitch. That said it does make you wonder if waiting/signing guys like him trump freshmen. I’d say yes.

Would you rather have a Desmond Claude or a frosh?

you can't be an OSU fan and a Uconn fan. Plus you're not the only one living in Columbus.

Stewart would be an odd fit next to Tarris since Stewart has a really limited offensive game and neither have perimeter skills. The two of them would really clog up the paint and put a lot of pressure on Tarris’ passing to find the open man out of doubles. Don’t really like the fit at all for us.

He would allow Stewart to play the 4 and he would atart at the 3. Mullins would back up at both the 2 and the 3. Mullins would be out 6th man. We wouldn't be looking for a PF unless we can find a player who doesn't mind back up duties

I was thinking more of a back up to Reed and not playing along side with him. I agree if they were in together things would not flow well. He would be a big help to the 5 spot, when Reed gets into foul problems. I'm a bit worried on Reibes ability in his 1st year. I know, he will want starter minutes, one can only hope that he would take that role and be on contending team for a national championship.

Yep I agree, Baba would be a much better fit to start next to Tarris at the 4.

StJ gonna be loaded / easily preseason best roster. How does Dan Hurley keep up now?

Do the pieces fit? Sometimes that's more important than the individual talent.

Pitino has always been impatient to win. This reminds me of his Celtics "rebuild" after he was hired as their coach. That didn't work so well. Although Travis Knight thanks him! And he's even more impatient now because he doesn't have a lot of years left. He wants to win NOW.
