Transfer Portal Starting to Load

Tayton Conerway (Troy Jr PG, 6'3", 186#). Sun Belt POY. Very nice metrics except for 3pt shooting, which is serviceable. Plays with aggression, finishes well in the lane through contact. Only team with apparent announced interest so far is Ole Miss.

Miro Little (Utah So., 6'3" 193). From Finland.

One year at Baylor, then 1 at Utah. Probably not a culture fit, may have some issues, but interesting nonetheless. Saw reduced PR as season went on at Utah. Key metrics are not bad though. Would be a bench piece/development piece with 2 yrs to work with. Wouldn't prioritize, a bunch of other potentially better options for a backup PG.

I think they still have some work to do. The uab transfer seems very good but I dont think they are expecting to return really any contributors, I think the two bigs are both gone and their best guard is in the portal. And then with these guys, I think Cadeau is not a winning player. small no defense and cant shoot. Was an average player in a pathetic ACC, and the big they got from Illinois is a nice rotational piece but not anything special
One thing for sure Dusty and that campus attract recruits.

Xaivian Lee (Princeton Sr, 6'4", 180#). May be one of the best PGs left in the portal. I'm sure he's looking for starters' minutes. Kentucky & UNC seem to be interested. But KY just got Lowe from Pitt.

Would be a heck of 10-15min backup PG/SG/Combo for a certain Blue Blood.

Weird to me he went back to Princeton this year to still transfer before graduating. He had elite transfer opportunities a year ago

Childhood friend of the Diarra(s)
This is good info - seems like there needs a bit of a connection for someone to commit to potentially reduced minutes. What we really need now is a Hass from three years ago , he was a special get in that for both title seasons he provided backup minutes with starter-like skills. Hass committed before Newton, but they were right around each other, so Hass knew the possibility was there that he'd be a backup. Need a quality PG that will take that reduced role, but wants to be a Husky.

2023 Hass was not very good so I’m not sure what you’re talking about. There’s a reason he played 4 total minutes in the final four. Obviously much better in 24.

I agree on Cadeau, but Morez Johnson is really really good. He's one of the best guys in the portal. They still need to add more but those 3 transfers along with Trey McKenney who's a top 20 recruit and Roddy Gayle coming back is a nice core

I guarantee Cadeau is better than how he looked playing pickup the last 2 years too.

Michigan reloading the frontcourt with Goldin graduating and getting replaced by Illinois transfer Morez Johnson and the addition of Lendeborg makes me think Wolf to the NBA is a sure thing.

Lendeborg will participate in the combine and the word is if he gets a first round grade he will go. Michigan is the contingency plan.

No idea how likely that is.

Why isn't this dude at the top of our board? Elite motor/wingspan. Good (not great) shooter. Good (not great) passer. P5 starting 4 man - can moonlight at the 5 if we need. Also looks to be the kind of balloon knot Hurley's been looking for to light a fire under these kids in the locker room. Downsides seem similar to AK's downsides - plays below the rim and not a lot of lateral quickness. Think he could step in and start if AK leaves - or be backup 4/5 if he doesn't. Don't get why Monroe is a higher priority than this Hansberry kid. Assuming they've done their homework on him? Any ideas

I watched the bama game with my kids the other day, Hass played more than that in just the last 5 minutes of the game….

I didn’t notice it so much last year when we were preparing for the final 4 but following 74 pages of this thread while 4 teams are still playing emphasizes just how much of a disadvantage schools that go far in the tournament are at for filling out their 25-26 roster in the portal.

Eh. None of these 4 teams were even top 40 in transfer portal rankings last year.

The year before NC State shows up in the top 10 as the Cinderella. After that Alabama doesn’t show up until 41.

Continuity is important at the end of the day.

We played Bama and Purdue in 24 and Hass was essential. Original post talked about how good Hass was from the start. He wasn’t. We played Miami and SDST in 23 and Hass was basically out of the rotation.

I absolutely agree about continuity but at best you still typically have a few holes to fill. Also, I think both Florida and Auburn are set to lose most of their major contributors, aren’t they?

He’s nice! He would be an incredible backfill for Aidan’s spot. I hope we make a run at him but unlikely to happen as he’ll get starter NIL money and minutes from another Top 25 program or even a blue blood.

Gotta think post dead period some bigger surprise entries are going to happen that are more of an obvious fit to fill out/supplement the rest of the roster. That being said the 3/4 from Alabama intrigues me.

Is it just me or is it a little alarming so many good to very good players heading into the Big East and we have 1 thus far 2 years a year removed from 2 straight titles? Don’t get me wrong I realize there’s more out there and our staff has a certain style kid, but as of now we need more to be real good again.

I've kinda been wondering what happened w/ Gavin Griffiths? I know he played for Nebraska this year but didn't get much run or success. Didn't play a minute in the crown either.

Maybe a good guy in portal... 2 year local kid with upside to fill a roster spot?
