If you want to go for the home run. How much NIL does he want?

GEORGIA'S SILAS DEMARY JR. SHAKES UP PORTAL

Silas Demary Jr. to the portal is significant news that rival coaches have been waiting for. The 6-foot-5 lead guard was one of the best players in the SEC down the stretch, spurring the Dawgs into an at-large, NCAA Tournament bid. A two-year starter in Athens, Demary offers terrific positional size and two-way ability. He's a tough, physical combo guard who can play on and off the ball. A really good defender, Demary blossomed as a sophomore at Georgia while improving his shooting and decision-making.

I like everything about his game but the <40% fg%. Would want to dig into that a bit more

Who do we think the top 5 Portal PG/Combo guards are so far?

Dent is probably getting an SEC bag. Doubt he’s on the table for us. If he was going Big East, he has his old coach at Xavier.

Stirtz probably would have been the consensus No. 1 - but followed his coach to Iowa.

Other 5 I guess might be Cadeau from North Carolina, Boyd from San Diego State (who was at Florida Atlantic), Peterson from East Tennessee State, George from Georgia Tech, and this Demary kid from Georgia.

I’d like to dig into the 18 turnovers in back to back games against Marquette and St. John’s.

I have no idea what point you're trying to make. I mean... yeah, so would all of us. And I'm guessing the staff already did.

In all likelihood the guard we pick up hasn't even gone into the portal. Still hundreds of names to drop

Pretty simple point. We need a point guard we can give the keys to. He played our two biggest conference rivals - who thrive on ball pressure - and he had a combined 18 turnovers. That’s a bit of a resume blight. So could he do the job we need him to do?

And I honestly don’t know for sure. The turnovers in those two games were a huge outlier compared to the rest of the year (when he played against SEC defenses) - he finished the year only averaging 2.3. Maybe it was just the yips and he figured it out. But he also had more than four assists only twice in his last 25 games (5 against LSU and 7 against Mississippi State). So it sort of looks like (just looking at the numbers - I never saw him play) that Georgia took some of the playmaking responsibilities off his shoulders and put him off the ball a lot - and I’m not sure that would make him a good fit with our current needs. We have plenty of off the ball guys already.

But he might be fine and those two games were put in the rear view mirror a long time ago. If he is on our short list, I’m sure we will do our due diligence.

I thought you were talking about UConn's turnovers. Gotcha.

"Do not contact." Does that mean he already knows where he's going? I heard Hurley whispered to him in the after game hand shake line. :)

With Sean Miller going to Texas, I'd be shocked if Conwell goes elsewhere, considering his "do not contact".

I'm a huge Conwell fan. One of the most underappreciated players in CBB.

Usually means they either know where they're going or have the list of 2-3 they want to visit. Would be shocked if it's anywhere other than Texas or Indiana

I wonder if we’ll take two pgs?

anyone ever see Delaware’s Izaiah Pasha? Only saw one game. Has good size & was awesome against UNC-Wilmington In their tourney in a Variety of wayys (rebounding, passing, scoring, seemed to have high IQ)

3 years left. His list so far is lesser schools, but a lot to like if we took an older guy.

maybe I saw his best game but was really impressive and noticed he was really competitive, too.
No UConn.
