The ONLY reason I played college ball was because I played good defense and rebounded. Taught in high school.you try to teach defense to freshmen

It looked very badThat Watkins injury didn't look good. There was contact but that didn't seem to be what caused her knee to buckle. Carried off the court. We've seen this too many times.
it was her right knee away from the defensive player. The Miss State players had nothing to do with her injury. Her right knee buckled inward. One of the things I worry about in WBB is the potential for injury when a really good team is playing against a team that is overmatched. That’s exactly what happened to JuJu tonight when she got sandwiched by 2 MS St players while on her way to a fast break layup.
While I agree with your thought, I don't think there was enough contact on that foul to make Watkins knee buckle the way it did. Her knee might have been another time bomb waiting to explode. The women are so prone to these.Sad.One of the things I worry about in WBB is the potential for injury when a really good team is playing against a team that is overmatched. That's what I saw as well. My heart dropped when she grabbed her knee. Get well soon, JuJu.I saw a front angle and it looked like she planted the foot hard and then knee buckled. Just awful.
I think North Carolina is a bit of a Rodney Dangerfield...can't get no respect. Gonna advance to the Sweet 16 w/ no drama in either game, will improve to 29 wins. Not bad. We have some Duke and NC State fans here who are contractually obligated to hate the Heels, I get that, but beyond that they still can't seem to get any positive press around here.
I think I got to vote with FanInNC here. I actually really respect Banghart, but I just can't support the University of Nonexistent Classes. Every school has "athlete classes/majors" but this just takes the cake. Please delete that post nwhoopfan. I’d prefer not read such hogwash.
I wish I could have this optimism and I hate to say this, but she had a contact injury. Her leg was planted and a player collided with her knee pushing it sideways. It did not look pretty, but while this absolutely COULD tear someone’s ligaments, the actual outcome, a sprain, was always within the realm of possibilities.I saw Sonia citron get carried off once. And I thought for sure that it was an acl. But it turned out that it wasn’t and she returned later on in the season. So; I am going to choose to hope for the best.
...unlike...does not necessarily mean good. That's 22-32 from the field from the trio of seniors through 3 quarters against a defense unlike any they have ever seen in their 4 year careers.
Triangle.Prayers for JuJu.
Well sweet sixteen is set. 7 games pit our season long 'Magnificent 7' against worthy opponents.
Game 8 a thriller: Duke vs UNC!
Congrats to Triad, the whole triad is still alive. NC St: pretty amazing guard/shooting performance. Like that they can beat anyone too.
