Tourney - Round 2

Those hockey line subs from Caldwell just completely smoked all the momentum Tenn had. Are the high level recruits really gonna be on board with that stuff once they get in the program?
Why wouldn't they? They'd no longer have playing time as an excuse for wanting to leave. Everyone on that Tennessee roster is contributing and seeing themselves as part of the team. It also shows Caldwell trusts having them on the court at any given time.

Congrats to the Vols.

I thought tOSU was fairly vulnerable as a #4 seed. This was NOT a good year for 4s!
These likely 1/5 Sweet 16 matchups are about to be electric.

USC/Kansas State-With Ayoka Lee back Kansas State has real potential to spoil USC’s season

Texas/Tennessee should be a hotly contested game if Tennessee plays well

UCLA/Ole Miss, this one isn’t quite as compelling but Ole Miss is a dangerous team

USC/Ole Miss was a 2 point game the first time these teams met

If U$C wins, they get K-State.

I think this will be the first time Tennessee and Texas. Will play each other in the NCAA tournament history.

This was far from one of Walz's best teams, but he's won a bunch of Tourney games
This got me thinking about career Tourney wins for active coaches. Geno must be miles ahead of the field. Mulkey is probably way up there, Frese, Walz, maybe Schaefer. Staley is picking them up rapidly but started well behind those others. Graves is probably in the top 10. I might be totally overlooking somebody, but for the most part you've got a bunch of coaches without very many Tourney W's. Rueck probably has more than the vast majority of active coaches. I'm gonna have to look it up, now I'm curious.

Regarding Walz they said during the game he is 41-15 in Tourney games IIRC, so now 41-16.

big 10 today: 0-4
They could be 0-5 in an hour. Don't think they will be, but it's certainly more possible that I could've imagined before tip-off.

Richmond is legit. Their coach is someone that should receive strong consideration for the same position at the flagship university in that state.

I have seen bored listless ucla a number of times. They can really crank up the defense when they want to.

All four 5 seeds should have been higher especially Ole Miss and Kansas St.
Hmm...Alabama, Ole Miss and Tennessee were all 5 seeds, who finished behind Kentucky in the SEC standings. And Baylor finished ahead of K State in the Big 12. Conference record isn't everything, but I don't really see how you can justify moving all the 5s up when you look at who the 4s are. Maybe Ohio St. and/or Maryland are suspect.

Halftime scores:
1 SC trailed
1 UCLA tied
2 Duke trailed

TCU only 1/2 seed with a big lead

And that's why they play 2 halves. Plenty of games I would've been happy to call it good after 20 minutes.

UCLA's ability to turn all the way up is impressive.

Dawn by my count has 46. Vic 27, Mulkey 64 or 65, Brenda 43, Graves 22.

Other notables: Bill Fenneley (25), Wes Moore (16), Scott Rueck (18), Kevin McGuff (17), Cori Close (16), Gottlieb (13)

These might be slightly wrong as Im doing mental math counting wins based on Wikipedia pages from my phone on a bus ride lol
