I know we are still posting about last night but we have a game tomorrow night so here goes:

1) No let up- Play like the nation's best team from the opening tip- Seton Hall plays well against us

2) Our underclassmen amazing us again

3) Evina to be healthy and back in form or sitting to rest her knee

1) Geno switches Nika, Aubrey and Mir off on AEH, limits her touches, and holds her to 4 points

2) Saylor gets 10 minutes and hits 3 threes

3) Paige continues her streak with her 4th consecutive 30-point game

1. Evina to scale down her minutes these next few games and just make sure she is healthy heading into March. If shes healthy and feeling good then our team is 10% better in the tournament.
2. Paige to show up Park-Lane and have another great night.
3. Team defence to continue being strong, hold Park-Lane to a lot less than last time and show they can defend quick guards without getting in foul trouble.

More meaningful minutes and output from Mir.

More aggression under the boards from ONO.

Continued development from Muhl.

More performance from the rest of the team so that the tournament teams understand that UConn isn't a one-player team, and they can just mob Paige in order to won.

A good start right off the bat to build a big lead so we can cut down on the wear and tear on a couple of our "elder statemen" so they can get some R&R.

The continuation of the good movement and screening at the top of the key by Liv.

More tough, lock down defense.

I'm of 2 minds. Grumpy me says:
  • Starters of Nika, Paige, Evina, Aubrey, Liya
  • Lots of minutes for Mir
  • Anna back in the lineup and healthy
Realistic me says
  • Paige - please continue to take at least 20 shots
  • Nike, Aubrey, Liya - build off your outstanding effort against SC and continue to be uber-productive
  • Christyn - take no more than a trio of 3-point shots, play super hard on defense, and DRIVE to the hoop to get fouls - then freakin' make the foul shots
    • Sub-wish - Olivia did not play bad against SC. He style is finessee, not a banger. Play hard and continue to work on what you do well
Really hoping Anna comes back sooner rather than later. Poor kid.

1 - Keep improving defensively. Especially stop that Seton Hall player that gave us problems in last matchup. Our defenses have traditionally been able to shut/slow down opponent's best player.
2 - Aubrey continues her high energy and rebounding aggressiveness.
3 - CW and Liv perform at a level that gives them (and me) more confidence that they can lead us to a national championship.

1. Evina showing signs that she is OK
2. Any one who is free at the foul line area: SHOOT THE BALL
3. With less than a minute to go: Autumn making a 3 pointer

The coach didn't want the post players shooting the ball from the free throw line in the fourth quarter last night. The offense was to run Paige off screens and get her opened so she could shoot. That's why Uconn won the game last night. They listened to the coach.

1. A UCONN Win
2. Evina resting (no need for her to play. Rest for playoffs)
3. Either:
a) Geno give one of his classic "waving his arm and hand in the air" to say goodbye at the end of the game, to AEH, after UCONN holds her to Single Digit scoring, OR
b) AEH goes off for 25 + points against her former coach and gives Geno a little sarcastic wink at the end of the game

Either way, it should be fun to watch.

Also Aubrey Griffin going up against 2 of her former High School Teammates in AEH and Harris will be fun to watch as well

1. Continue to play the exciting new offense style for 40 minutes.
2. Continue to play the new defensive style for 40 minutes.
3. Win big and get good useful minutes from all 12 team members (yes meaning Anna returns healthy).

1. Keep the offense going. Liv up top dishing out assists. Pick and roll all night long.
2. Keep the defense going. Nika on Park-Lane. Park-Lane won't go off for big points.
3. No more injuries!!!!!!!!

I just want them to survive the game with a win. The SC game had to burn a lot of mental and physical energy. Hopefully the bench can be productive and let the starters stay around 25 minutes or less.

1. Play like the #1 team in the country, including jumping off to a good start.

2. Having the upperclassmen play with the same energy as the frosh, and provide balanced scoring, though Paige gets 25.

3. Limiting Park-Lane and Espinosa-Hunter to 15 points each.
