Ditto on Blanca and Kayleigh. If the subs hit a reasonable % of 3's, UConn is difficult to beat. While USC is a level above teams like DePaul, we know the effort and defensive commitment will be the same.Strong effort against DePaul but USC will be looking for an upset at home so we have to be ready. Here are my top 3 things:
1) Whether up by 20, down by 10 or tied, a third quarter that is fifth gear, relentless and statement worthy.
2) More Blanca and Kayleigh coming in and creating havoc on defense and driving and hitting 3s.
3) Jana and Serah to combine for 20 not 19, and to get 10 boards this game.
What are yours?
Interesting point on Jazzy. Was just watching some older, 2002 vintage videos on UTube and Geno went with a zone much more often. Could this be a game when instead of trying to shut down specific players one on one that he switches up the defense?1) Great D as always
2) who covers the 6'1" Jazzy..Blanka at 6'2" would be a good choice but I don't think she's ready to start
3) K9 just play her game an not get too hyped playing her former team
If CFD gets in the game, that will be a good omen.1. K-9 continuing to show her moves
2. Caroline to throw in a 3 pointer
3. No injuries
YES... I was just getting excited about the game. SorryUSC is not in the top 10...ranked #16
That sounds like our gamer plan last year against UCLA and BettsNo injuries and a win...
Contain rather than stop Jazzy - do not distort UCONN'S normal defensive approach as no one else can hurt us unless we over commit to her.
Press and go off to the races.
Relax and everyone hits their shots.
They also don't have Kiki either.USC has no JuJu and no Heckel.
Glad we have Heckel now.
Or Marshall, who was a solid, underrated post player who landed a spot in the W.They also don't have Kiki either.
There was lots of buzz last year about a two-tiered system at USC.Just one thing this week. I want Kayleigh to play really really well (preferably really really really well to use a Geno-ism) against her former team.
I quite like Lindsay Gottlieb, but it nags at me that both Heckel and Avery Howell left USC after one season. Kayleigh did say that she wanted to be coached up to her full potential, but Howell's not gonna get that fromJudith LightTina Langley, so it's not just better coaching that they're looking for.
Well the one tier is sitting out this season so they decided to leave knowing they would have the team to themselves this season. There was lots of buzz last year about a two-tiered system at USC.
