I think the team needs a closed door players only meeting similar to what happened with Michigan State before the Iowa game. If chemistry issues are not resolved players other Bazz need to take the fall. There are issues. Boatright associates himself with the wrong people off the court and it effects his relationship with Bazz. I think social media is an important platform but there is a reason coaches like Shaka Smart do not permit players to post via twitter during the season and off season for that matter. There are plenty of "haterz" that have come through the doors of the program and had the door hit them on the way out.

This is Napier's team and the coach needs to come down very hard on anyone who doesn't follow his lead. It has to happen like yesterday.

Good post...
You can't make this statement "Boatright associates himself with the wrong people off the court and it effects his relationship with Bazz." and just leave it at that. WTF are you talking about?

Theres a reason why Kemba is such a legend. He never would have had such a poor shooting day in such an important game. Bazz is no Kemba

This isn't about poor shooting! They can miss shots, Kemba did. But he never gave up so in that case he is no Kemba.

Kirkpatrick against UConn was 4 of 16 with 5 rebounds and 7 turnovers!! He was equally putrid. Players have bad games. You shouldn't be rewarded because you played Rutgers today while Napier played Louisville. After all, how did Napier do against Rutgers?

Shh. That was good D against Cincy that caused that. It is only when our players have a bad game where the other team can't get some credit.

I don't think anyone is worried about how he shot the ball today……..there was an issue with his body language that can't be excused. If he shot awful and was playing hard for 40 I could care less but he didn't exhibit the expected attitude of a senior captain wearing that uni……...

I really won't care all that much if Bazz doesn't win individual awards. I will care if UConn doesn't make it through the first weekend.

If anything, a UConn player being overlooked for a postseason award is a good thing given what happened to Kemba and Okafor.

A captain who smiles and says nothing after his teammates give anything less than their absolute best effort is not much of a captain. Until I see something reminiscent of Kevin Garnett, I'm not going to complain about Napier's interactions with teammates.

Yea, our guards are all so happy go lucky. Amazing chemistry and no fighting and bickering at all. How dumb of me. Great points you bring up by the way. Idiot.

Save the armchair psychology.

Save the armchair psychology.

This. I feel like half this board goes into armchair psychologist mode every time Napier has a bad game. I saw the same exact posts last year after the Louisville game. It's ridiculous. There is a double standard with Napier that our other great players were never subjected to.
Ever see Tom Brady when one of his teammates screws up? He makes Bazz look like some sort of lucky charms cartoon. We get humiliated on national TV, Bazz is visibly frustrated with some of his teammates, and now we have to read all these posts about how he's a spoiled brat. If you were on the court yesterday and weren't mad, that's on you. If Bazz could have channeled that anger into something more productive, fine. But as another poster said, he's human.

I will be the first here to admit I might have expected too much from him yesterday and did not allow him a game in which he became very frustrated as he could not save his team…..he's given way too much to me and owes me zilch and then some………

Thanks Bazz and now please…….just a little bit more magic to remember!!

Many of you are missing the point...suffer through watching it again if you must to get it straight but Bazz wasn't getting into his teammates faces because they were not playing hard enough nor because they were screwing up...he was vociferously blaming them for his own mistakes. Cases in point; Bazz short arms a pass to LK and the L'ville player is about to steal it but LK dives and taps the ball away, preventing a L'ville fast break the other way but instead of patting LK on the back and saying," thanks Bro for covering for me" he gets in LK's face and blames him for the play... then on another occasion, without getting a non-verbal signal from DD he assumes that he is going to the hoop when DD is actually backing out towards the 3-point line (which is typically what DD does in that situation)... So Bazz throws it away and instead of having a highlight play, Bazz looks foolish, so his gets mad and takes it out on DD. Bazz is a great player who has had a phenomenal season but his behavior yesterday was absolutely unsat! That attitude is poison to a team and needs to be fixed now!
