Shabazz may have cost himself by such a bad attitude and emotional demeanor on the court. Anyone can have a bad game, but he played like a spoiled brat. This could effect his POY vote in the American Conference, and his draft status. He looked THAT bad.

The team may have cost itself a top 25 ranking and better seeding in the NCAA Tournament.

I feel Kilpatrick now has the edge. Smith has a better supporting cast.

What did he do that was bratty? You mean missing shots and turnovers?

Theres a reason why Kemba is such a legend. He never would have had such a poor shooting day in such an important game. Bazz is no Kemba

Kemba had 8 points on 3 of 10 shooting against a ranked Syracuse team in 2011. Every player in the history of basketball has had bad games. It happens. If you guys are claiming Shabazz doesn't show up in big moments you are out of your minds and haven't watched a UConn game in the last four years. I'd start a list of clutch Bazz moments in big games but it would take too long to list them all. You can start by reading this. http://grantland.com/the-triangle/m...all-americans-conference-players-of-the-year/

Maybe it did cost him the AAC player of the year, but if you think his draft status is any different today than it was yesterday you're insane. Shabazz was projected as a second round pick yesterday and he still is today. The only people acting like spoiled brats are the people posting on here.

I never thought Bazz was Kemba nor expected him to become Kemba...

But, Kemba in his last regular season games against Louisville went 7-23 and 3-10.

I didn't see this post before I responded but I agree. Shabazz isn't Kemba (Kemba is one of a kind) but to say he played like a spoiled brat is ridiculous.

Smith completely outplayed Bazz. Bazz basically stunk. Love Bazz but reality is reality.

Yeah he was yelling at people in the huddles and getting in people's faces. Not good.
Getting Kromah's face today really pissed me off. He was also riding Boatright last week. Wtf

I think Napier wants to win so badly (I actually called him Napier, not Bazz or Shabazz. Weird). I just think sometimes he doesn't get why the others aren't as good as him sometimes and he gets really frustrated. I mean, I'm sure everyone has played pickup with that one guy and you get run off the court. But he's playing with like 4 of those guys.

Getting in his teammates faces classifies as bratty. The OP is right

Getting in his teammates' face is his responsibility.

If he took it too far today, fine. They were in the process of rolling over on national television.

But if he never got into one of his teammates when they weren't pulling their end we'd have endless threads on here about a lack of leadership, and probably rightfully so.

It is freaking amazing how quickly the tide changes on this damn board.

I take it you didn't watch the Rutgers game. There are serious attitude and chemistry problems going on with this team, but feel free to ignore it

Bazz gave POY away today for sure.

Kirkpatrick against UConn was 4 of 16 with 5 rebounds and 7 turnovers!!

He was equally putrid. Players have bad games. You shouldn't be rewarded because you played Rutgers today while Napier played Louisville. After all, how did Napier do against Rutgers?

Yea, our guards are all so happy go lucky. Amazing chemistry and no fighting and bickering at all. How dumb of me. Great points you bring up by the way. Idiot.

"I watched these guys play basketball on the TV and now I know how they think and feel".

So incredibly dumb.

I think the team needs a closed door players only meeting similar to what happened with Michigan State before the Iowa game. If chemistry issues are not resolved players other Bazz need to take the fall. There are issues. Boatright associates himself with the wrong people off the court and it effects his relationship with Bazz. I think social media is an important platform but there is a reason coaches like Shaka Smart do not permit players to post via twitter during the season and off season for that matter. There are plenty of "haterz" that have come through the doors of the program and had the door hit them on the way out.

This is Napier's team and the coach needs to come down very hard on anyone who doesn't follow his lead. It has to happen like yesterday.

Good post...

When Bazz struggles he takes it out on his teammates and gets in their faces. I've seen it the past few games and at other points the past three years. I don't think it as simple as everyone falling in line with Bazz. At one point today Bazz threw a pass in the lane that Daniels missed and it was a turnover. Bazz then rode Daniels all the way down the court yelling at him. That is not his job as a team leader and it doesn't help.

There were two guys on Bazz today at all times, every shot he took was contested, someone else needs to step up.

There are good ways to be a leader and bad ways to be a leader. Napier has walked that fine line his entire career. I hope he doesn't turn into Alexander the Great and start taking over countries. Leading us to a Sweet 16 will suffice.

Good post...

Wait, who does Boatright associate with off of the court?
