Today’s Visit from Mora

So does anyone know how today’s meeting went? Was media there- did players say anything on social media about it?

.-.
He knew we were losing our star QB, RB and Receiver. Next season was going to be a rebuilt anyways.
This is such a crap excuse people are giving. If he was a good coach, he wouldn’t need to worry about losing those and having a tough schedule because he had built a program that should be, and was, at a level that could compete with that schedule. Ok, we lose Bell and Joe. Huge, huge losses. However, he has shown a lot of success in the portal and could have restocked. He had the foundation already.

If part of the reason he left was because of a hard schedule and losing Joe, Bell, and maybe Cam, then I’m not sad to see him go. A good coach continues to raise the bar each season, not tuck tail and run.

I really don’t care why he left.
I wonder if there was a way he could have coached the bowl game and then left.

Was it UConn that said you’re out immediately? Was it CSU that said no, you either take this job now or we’re moving on? It seems almost every situation is handled different

This sport is so stupid in ways that it’s mind boggling.

We really can’t figure out some rules to protect the season so that teams can finish the year without worrying about losing their coach or players???

Talk about self inflicted fun shots….

I heard talk of moving the early signing period to February like it used to be. This might save the bowl games. I believe Andy Staples from On3 talked about this on Monday’s Dan Patrick show. He said that the head coaches did not like the idea

UCLA and Miami don't play in campus. Are they second rate too?

Rose Bowl, Hard Rock Stadium, Rentschler Field.......Surely you jest

Screw what the head coaches think on this tbh

It is and will be still a G5/G6 conference, right? (You seem to implying they will get P4 status wrt the CFP.)
Didn't mean to imply that, I just think it will be a bit easier to get into the playoff. We really don't have a path. If I understand it correctly, the only way we can get into the playoff is being say top 10 and outranking ND.

I thought that the auto bid goes to the top G5 team. UConn is viewed as G5, so that is UConn's pathway as well as all the other G5's. No?

Yes, automatic bids only go to conference champions. Even if ND were to finish the season ranked #1 and undefeated, they would receive an at large bid. They could still be the highest seed but it wouldn't be from an automatic bid.

No G5 top ranked CONFERENCE WINNER gets the auto bid. UConn only path is getting at large bid. In most years meaning being ranked in the top 10 (assuming G5 conference champ and either Big 12 or ACC conference champ not ranked in top 12).

To be clear, the 5 highest ranked conference champions get an automatic bid, period, whether P4 or G6. I think. So you could have 2 G5 conference champions get automatic bids and none from the ACC because the ACC sucks *ss.

With the PAC 12, it seems like any of those 8 members could win that conference any given year just due to the fact there are only 8 members. It would also be likely that the conference champion wouldn't be ranked high enough to get the CFP auto bid because they wouldn't be ranked high enough. Our former coach is chasing fool's gold

I was curious if there has been any reporting on what went down in this visit from the former coach and what was said

.-.
Just my opinion, the grass isn't necessarily greener, however CSU will be in Pac12 next year and allows a path to the playoff.
unfortunately, people hear Pac12 and think UCLA, USC, Washington, Oregon etc. The inflection in some local commentators voices' implied as much "Mora is going to be coaching in the PAC-12!'' It's barely a slightly richer mans Mountain West
