Last year I did not record the first couple of games of the BET. I just watched the score change on my phone while I was at work. Then I started recording the Pitt game but still watched the scores on my phone.

I realize that mojo doesn't necessarily carry over from year to year, but I just don't know if I should record the game tomorrow and watch when I come home or not record it and watch the score on my phone or set a new tradition to record it and watch the scores on my phone real time.

Understanding/feeling the mojo is such a difficult task. I don't know what to do.

While the mojo is certainly fickle, I think you know what must be done. Keep the tradition, my friend.

Don't record, check the scores on your phone.

I like to throw in a little extra wrinkle...I only check the scores in the quarter-hours. (:00, :15, :30, :45). And by like, I mean I can only bear to check the scores four times an hour otherwise I'll get nothing done.

Mojo changes - everyone needs to understand that. In 04, I paused the pitt game when we were down bad and cleaned the toilets (I have no idea why, it's what I had to do) then fast forwarded until we won. A few weeks later we were down big to Duke so I paused the game and cleaned the toilet and walked the dog. I came back and fast forwarded to the end when we won. I've tried cleaning toilets at various times since and it's never made a difference. That dog no longer hunts. It's not a simple matter of doing what I did last year. It could be the right thing to do it again, it could be wrong. I have no feeling on what is the right thing to do.

OK - it's spoken - I would explain, but that can't be done until later....

Well, I will record the game and watch it after work, making sure that I do not hear what the score was or who won. Maybe we could have a chat with Boneyarders watching the recorded game at the same time (as close as we could get, like start the tipoff right at 7:00 p.m. eastern time). Interest?
