TN over ND

Oh my. Mabrey actually has a crossover. Suddenly UT looking like they're wearing down.

ND's pick and roll has been open all night.

UT forcing the offense to set up higher. Good defense.

As bad as the Vols are on offense, they may be worse on D. They don't move their feet, they don't help each other and they constantly lose track of cutters in the lane. If the Huskies ever play them, Pheesa would score 40+ and Gabby would have 20+ assists.

Who is the official scorer for this game? S/he has credited Tenn with 13 assists. Not sure I've seen any.

That the same person who just sounded the horn too soon while ND was pushing for the last shot? LOL

Now that's not to say that everything is perfect. For example, ND does this weird thing where they'll get out to a healthy lead and then play even the rest of the way.

So if things go to form... I expect ND to open it up to 10-12 by half and then probably play the 2nd half even. There will probably be a mild scare when Tenn. hits a 6-0 or 8-0 run at some point in the 2nd half. ND will eventually counter and restore the 10ish point lead and go on to win. Boneyard posters will remark that ND won but they didn't look good doing it and continue to try "put their finger on" what is "wrong" with ND.

Let's see up 13 at half. Super sloppy 3rd quarter to let Tennessee hang around and cut the lead to 10 after 3. Yes sir, this prediction is tracking nicely.

For ND the hi/lo, pick and roll and the backdoor play have been very effective. Yet they only use them sporadically. Their 3 point shooting has been...where? UConn has improved both offensively and defensively since they and ND last played. ND's improvement has been incremental at best.

ND comes out in the third with Nelson and Turner looking to play hi/lo.

I can't fathom why Nelson is still in the game with Turner. I'm sure Westbeld is just exhausted but I'd much rather see Boley in there. Sure, she has no idea what she's doing but at least she's less foul prone and stretches the floor on offense.
