If it is true I have never once seen her use that leaping ability in any of the dozen or so times I have seen her play.

The only leap I can remember is the two-handed dunk in the NCAA tourney...she may have had others. She seemed to get a little higher than Breanna got during the McDonald's dunk contest, but Breanna seemed to be taking it kind of easy, too.

The bottom line is Griner is going to have a much smaller window to receive the ball than she's used to, and she's going to have to keep it elevated in a way she hasn't had to before. Of course, the same goes for Breanna, but she seems much more comfortable putting the ball on the floor...even as a freshman.

Can't wait to see how Coach Auriemma decides to match them up!

There are some good stills of Breanna getting off the floor quite well.

Some of them look like she'll hit her head on the rim! Hard to believe the perspective isn't a little misleading...

Geno has more options in lineups then Baylor, he could have a small lineup with Breanna at center, or big lineup with Breanna at the 4, and bigger with Morgan at the 4 and Breanna at the 3. Thats just combinations with Breanna on the floor, Geno can mix and match depending on the situations. What you see in March will be a well oiled machine, led by one of the greatest coaches in history. All teams have growing pains, but Geno always finds a way to get to the end of the season. Geno expects Breanna to be a star, when UCONN was here in Syracuse He said " Breanna will have to get used to the UConn way and I'll have to get used to Breanna", an approximate quote.

We have to remember (and take into consideration) that Geno (and the staff), have other things on their mind at the moment and may return slightly exhausted and spent. It may take a bit longer than usual till Geno get his rotations in order and for the club to be firing on all cylinders. Nevertheless, I am in awe at the possibilities.

IMO, the outcome of each game depends on how much the Baylor guards pass BG the ball. It's that simple...pass her the ball A LOT and Baylor wins. If the Baylor guards get shot-happy and forget to pass to #42, UCONN wins.

If it's that simple, UConn will put pressure on the guards and use their depth on the post to limit (not stop) Griner's touches. IMO.

If Baylor feeds the ball to Griner over and over and over, the UCONN front line will all be on the bench at the end of the game. Baylor will have to use Griner like they have never used her before if they want to beat UCONN, and you can bet that Mulkey knows this.

Griner can have her 20-25. UConn's defense will shut down everyone else. Including Sims.

IMO.

Griner will have a lot more that 20-25. By the end of next year she will be the best player on the planet. I can guarantee you that she is using her summer to improve and will come out a much better player than she was last year, and that was pretty darn good. She has improved tremendously in each of her first three years, and has not even gotten close to reaching her full potential. Oddly enough, she still has tremendous up-side. By the end of her senior year she will be virtually unstoppable.

coo coo, coo coo.

If you think she will have a lot more against the best defense in WCBB next year, I guess you think she will average 30-35 for the season? Unless she only plays 20-25 minutes because of blowouts?

And Chandler will be one of the best forwards in the country because you saw her in practice.

You are Baylors answer to TonyC...lol. I love it. Can't wait for the February matchup!

I agree that UCONN has a great chance, if Baylor does not manage the game well. BG should scare everyone going into next season because she is still tapping her potential and the closer she gets to her full potential the bigger of a nightmare she will become.

Sims is not going to be rattled and the supporting cast will be even better than last year. Every returning player will be better and three additional All Americans (Prince, Chandler and Johnson) will be added to the team.

Griner won't average 30+ just for the reason that you said. However, in the UCONN game she will need to get those numbers for Baylor to win.

February will be fun!

With all this back and forth, the one thing I feel more and more certain about is that next year it will be Baylor, UCONN, and then a big drop-off to anyone else.

Sort of like Nicklaus and Watson on Sunday at Turnberry :D

Agreed. I simply cannot see any team playing either Baylor or UCONN too closely. And for the record, I DO believe that UCONN has the potential to beat Baylor. I think these will possibly be the two best teams that we have ever had the pleasure of seeing hit the court at the same time. The games should be played at an incredibly high level.

Yep - and well back into last year, I (along with many others for sure) was already looking ahead to an epic, titanic NC Final in 2013 between these two teams.

Presumptuous? Yes. Dangerously in violation of mojo/karmic principles? Absolutely!!!

But that's just how I see it, and I can't wait either !

With all the talk of Steph Dolson, Bre Stewart, Kiah Stokes and Morgan Tuck, have you forgotten Heather Buck? :) That girl has earned her scholly in the Baylor games.

Spot on, Nan. Defensively, Heather has played as well as anyone against Griner.

That's ok. I've already sent her an industrial supply of bubble wrap.
