Hope everyone tunes into the last UConn game on SNY and gives them a warm sendoff (as measured on Nielsen's).

We probably won't get such intimate coverage on other networks that are going to cover UConn.

Meghan and Kara are family, but Gary, Allen, and Chelsea have also become dear friends. It'll be sad to not see them several times a year starting next year.

Hope the new coverage is a tenth as good as what we had with SNY.

RIP to SNY’s run at broadcasting UConn games. It wasn’t always perfect but you had to respect and love the plethora of fantastic UConn WBB content they gave us.

I remember being a little kid and watching games on CPTV for many years. And then as an adult when it switched to SNY. For better or worse, it’s an ever-changing sports media world. Nothing gold can stay. I’m hoping Meg, Kara, etc., are all able to be involved in future UConn games, somehow. They will be missed.

I guess for now it remains to be seen what the future holds.

A very sad goodbye to all the participants especially to Gary Apple and Kara whose pre-game, halftime and post-game shows were just superb and must sees. Gary Apple is as slick as they come and a pleasure to listen to and Kara understands the women's game and of course Geno as well as anyone. They worked so well together. Meg has been great and she often has her finger on the pulse of the team and has provided lucid insight over the years. Allen and Chelsea also added immensely to the whole experience. It's almost like saying goodbye to family. It's been a very unique feature of being a UCONN fan and one that will be sorely missed.

There were similar feelings when coverage moved from CPTV to SNY. The hour long championship recaps were particularly missed. Perhaps we’ll learn to appreciate the new outlet as well.

Please don’t use this post as an opportunity to take shots at CPTV. I know people disliked the fund raising but CPTV was the first channel in the country to show every women’s basketball game to its fans. CPTV was a huge and important part of the growth of popularity for our Huskies

They aren't moving to a new unknown platform this time though, so we already have a pretty good idea of what to expect since the move is from an RSN that's focused on UConn, to established national sports networks some of which we already play a game or two on. Production will likely be better, but there's still the question of how many UConn games will be picked up, and obviously it's no longer going to be UConn focused. Every time we get a national game and complain about how we miss the first few minutes because the men's game that was on before ran long, or our displeasure with the talking heads, or the commercials, in-game promos for some other men's or NBA game, etc. ... that's going to be every game going forward. There are going to be lots of trade offs here. The move from CPTV to SNY was all upside at the time.

We have been spoiled with the pre-game, timeout, halftime and post-game analysis as well as post-game interviews and Geno's comments. Wow, now that I listed all that I am sad...

Not only that, but all of the other special shows they do outside of the games. They always had an NCAA selection show, pre and post-season shows, championship celebration coverage, senior day, Geno Show, the legacy shows, and had someone basically dedicated to or embedded with the team attending practices and going on trips providing news updates that might not otherwise be possible. It's a big loss. I liked the simplicity of it all where the games were easy to find, always started and ended on time, and the format was very predictable so you always knew what you were going to get and when. I guess ultimately our loss is the conference's gain.

I was just a kid watching the games on CPTV. I always got a kick out of the faithful volunteers, but they did a lot to grow the game. They helped brand the huskies as a family friendly sports team.

SNY stepped in and picked up right where CPTV left off. Good announcers, solid pre and post game coverage, and behind the scenes access. They will be missed. Grateful to both broadcasters for allowing the huskies to be accessible.

Did SNY lose rights to everything UConn? I understand losing the games, but shouldn't they still be able to do pre and post game shows and specials on the UConn program? I think they would still have a pretty good following.

My CPTV memories are all wrapped up in Mom memories... They are fond, to say the least. I've also grown to greatly appreciate the SNY coverage. We're unlikely to get that kind of attention going forward.

Going to miss SNY like we missed CPTV. Both did great features on the program and gave us insights you couldn't get elsewhere.

Time will tell what next year's broadcast will bring.

As to Meg, she is already doing FS1 games on the women's side. Good broadcasters will fine a spot to land.

And I did hear that SNY is being absorbed by MLB network. Too bad.

Very well said, they and their great knowledge and insight into the team will be greatly missed I really wish Uconn would reconsider this move as there will be a lot of people I'm sure that will be unable to watch the games. Not to mention SNY has the best announcers that cover the games, Fox does not. Very sad.

We may need to embrace the UConn+ platform. I added the app to my Roku so I can access it there. It’s also available online

UCONN+
I did the same thing a while ago. If I remember correctly, that is how I watched the First Night festivities.
Unfortunately I use my Xbox S for most of my streaming and the last time I checked, the UConn+ app wasn't available. I guess I will have to check again.

It’s not UConn’s decision. The Big East owns the tv rights

A note to those who don't get SNY, something I stumbled across the last couple of games. There are a number of YouTube channels that broadcast the game (not sure if it is legal or not), but they are easily accessible and most have a few seconds of lag time vs live action (maybe that's how they get away with it). I cut the cable cord last year and couldn't get SNY through the streaming services I purchased. Just go to YouTube and search UConn Women, I was taken back by how many individual YouTube channels carried the game. I realize there is only one SNY game left, but if you are one who doesn't get it, try it!

Please don’t link those games or there replays here. Most, if not all, were from outside the U.S.
