Better yet; Giffey trusted himself tonight
yes....do you? Have you seen how he hesitates to shoot the ball after he misses? I dont think i saw him hesitate at all tonight. That is just wrong. Do you watch the games?
He has to have his feet under him with no pressure and he'll shoot. If not, he passes the ball. The good thing is that when he is open and set he usually buries it.That is just wrong. Giffey knows and trusts himself. Has all season. Do you watch the games?

I guess they should run more plays for him but when they do he will usually pass the ball unless he is set and wide open. He was always a good shooter but this year he is deadly and he is also helping on the boards. He is not a pure shooter in the same way Rashad Anderson was who had no conscience but could make 3's with pressure. Giffey has a conscience and probably knows his game better than anybody. Ollie and his teammates are using Giffey exactly the way they should.feel UConn has really underutilized Giffey for four years. Could have given us a lot more had we used him properly.

So you should know that they didn't do anything tonight they haven't been doing all year. This myth that they don't look to get Niels shots is so bizarre.
Even Ollie has said the team is still learning to trust each other. What do you think he meant? Or do you think Oille is FOS?
You're wrong (as usual). I was listening to the post game on AM 1080 after leaving Gampel and Glen Miller was talking about how once Giffey missed his first couple 3's his confidence was wavering and that's why he hesitated and didn't shoot during his next open look. During the next timeout the coaches made a point to tell him to keep shooting because he tends to get down on himself (i.e. not trust himself) once he misses a couple. And everyone was glad he kept shooting. That is just wrong. Giffey knows and trusts himself. Has all season. Do you watch the games?
Did you watch the long 3 he shot when we needed it a few games ago (SMU)? He had someone in his face but he knew he was going to shoot it. He's much better without thinking about it. I'd much rather have him shoot with 25 seconds left than watch 20 seconds of dribbling followed by an off-balance prayer (from any number of others). He has to have his feet under him with no pressure and he'll shoot. If not, he passes the ball. The good thing is that when he is open and set he usually buries it.
You've noted before our struggles on offense, I'm starting to agree. We are ranked very low in FG attempted and made. Begging for daniels ankle to get better. I think Samuel actually needs more tick, he makes passes boat cannot.Giffey himself said in the postgame that he needed to be more aggressive once DD picked up his second foul. He got the same looks and opportunities he always gets, he just decided to let the trigger go more tonight. He needs to bring this mindset into every game regardless of DD's foul situation, Bazz's needs all the scoring help he can get if the team is going to make a run.
The biggest thing was that he missed his first 3-4 threes and just kept shooting, that's the mindset he needs.
