The View From Section 241 — UAB

As to the attendance I got to blue lot at 11:30 and it was completely full and they pushed me all the way to grey lot.

Not sure how many went inside but the parking lots were jammed.
I can't speak to how many people tailgate beyond kickoff b/c I'm inside. wouldn't know if people are given a choice of going inside or leaving lot after the game starts (some places do). But, gut feeling, when I return to the lot it seems like a lot of people there never came in. Would not be in favor of a strict "Game or Go" policy in lots but maybe there's a gentler way to coax folks to come on in.

The policy is that tailgating ends 30 minutes prior to the start of the game and you should enter the stadium. I don't know if it is enforced at all

"To ensure that fans do not miss a minute of the UConn Huskies in action, anyone still tailgating 30 minutes prior to the start of the game must either enter the stadium or leave the property."

I think that one of the reasons that Cam was used in garbage time was to try to pad his stats. One of his stated goals in preseason is to have a 1,000 yard rushing season & he's about 3/4 of the way there with 3 regular season games left. I think the coaching staff was hoping that Cam would bust a 50 yard run to put him over 800 yards so that he can be used more sparingly in those last 3 games & give some of the bench sitters some late season playing time.
Cam actually is over 800 yards on the season, he currently has 144 carries for 815 yards, good for a 5.7 average

only for students. even so, generally unenforceable

Lol lol. Good luck with that.

From Bizlaw

"And Neider is going to be a Marcus Easley type stud by the time he’s done. (Assuming we have a QB who can get him the ball)."

Neider is not as big or strong as Easley nor as fast. But that is not the point. Neider is a really good receiver. What IS the point is the sentence between the parentheses. UConn can never repeat the mistakes it made after DO left. They MUST have a couple of strong armed PASSING QBs in the wings (transfer portal variety since our HS recruits never see action for years).

So analysis was fine, and definitely hit on what needs to be priority #1,2,3, and 4. Identify and recruit a talented replacement for JF.

We have very little control over our schedule, so there is no blame from me that we can’t accomplish what we’d like to. But having said that, and as hard as it is to project how good opponents will be a few years out, I’d like to play more top level G-5 teams, rather than middling to lower tier ones. Play the better AAC teams, not the below average ones.
I don’t disagree. On the other hand in a world where Indiana and Vanderbilt are pretty much CFP Locks and Florida State and Clemson will only go if they buy tickets, well you never know. But yeah, if we could add Memphis, or Tulane or Navy in place of UAB it would be interesting. But you look at a team like North Texas who has had a pretty long string of mediocre seasons. This year some people have them in the CFP. Or for that matter, us. I suspect when this series was scheduled UAB figured it would be a nice win.
